Encountering City players / staff in everyday life

Mike Summerbee - bought shirts off him when he had a shirt shop.
Colin Bell - outside Maine Road. What a lovely, quiet, diffident guy he is, given that he was one of the all-time greats.
George Best - in a pub, funnily enough. Very quiet guy, sat on his own, supping whisky. Had an air of sadness about him even then.

Not City related, but about 18 years ago, coming back from a stag do in Dublin, the GPC was on our plane. About 25 pissed up blues made him and his wife really welcome on the plane, as you can imagine. He couldn't get off quick enough at Manchester airport, but to be fair to him he took it in good spirits

Also just went to get a loaf of bread once at the local supermarket and bumped into Trevor Francis. And once I was at the Manchester Christmas Market back in 2002 and seen David Seaman

Funny, My Mother has quite a number of Sisters, as does my Father, so amongst my many Aunties who were quite a catch back in the 80's and 90's when younger.... They came across a lot more Football players than myself.
One Aunt dated Andy Dibble apparently hehe...

an Escort girl in Manchester has many a tale. They have no interest in Footy but they can spot a player from a mile off.

I've met a number of ex players but they've been at organised events such as supporters club meetings.

Joleon Lescott, David Silva, Patrick Vieira (at Santa stroll)
Colin Bell, Tony Book, Paul Power, Andy Morrison (he is a true grumpy twat in real life)
Joe Corrigan...

there's more!

Joe corrigan and tommy booth in our hotel at the stoke FA cup final - on the same day met the goat on the walk up to the ground - some of our lot met Uve on the way back

Clichy in the supermarket last week.

I used to work at the Swan With Two Nicks when the usual suspects from the scum used to go in and "drink moderately"

Dennis Tueart in the gym.

Summerbee and Book on the platform at Euston after the fa cup win

Mata in the supermarket

Joe Hart in the chinese

Mrs This! spoke with yaya and mario in the waiting room at stockport station a couple of years ago

Fergusson and Felliani and families on xmas eve in the restaurant two (poss three) years ago

James milner one lunchtime in a restaurant

Kolarov coming out of a restaurant near the airport

Mancini in Rosso (turncoat)

Mrs Manuel and family and Mrs Turtle and family sitting two tables away from each other for sunday lunch last summer

Mrs This! had some involvement with gio and summerbee after "the incident in the tunnel"

Did some design work for Mrs Robson

I once did one of those "walk towards someone on the pavement, so a sidestep, they do the same, you do the same" etc etc just off deansgate. It was ronaldo.

Lots of random matt black cars roaring through the village with young tatooed lads at the wheel, lots of *that must be, errr, ummmm, whatsisname" in the restaurants

I designed a house that one of our lot bought.

All these, yes, but not York away !!

Oh, and Mel Machin's dog used to shit outside my house, whilst he was 2nd in command to Ken Brown at Naarwich.

Machin's dog was assistant to Ken Brown?? Bloody hell... he could apply for the turtle's job.

Anyways ... George Best, regularly, in Phyllis's drinking den in Whalley Range in the mid 70's (she was Phil Lynots mum and had an old converted house which opened about 0100 am for the 'occasional' drinker).

Eric Nixon - in the Kenilworth, Cheadle Hulme - again, he was something of a regular.

Oh, and Alex Higgins - Junction Cheadle Hulme -police came in looking for him but the landlord had hidden him away.

Didn't exactly meet, but saw David de Gea and his missus outside All Star Lanes in town a few weeks back, I think on his birthday. We started singing City songs at him. His missus did NOT look impressed.

The old man met Kiddo in Manchester airport a year or two ago. Nice bloke apparently.

Once got called for Jury service and Dennis Tueart was there as well, had a good chat before i got called in. I seem to remember there was a discussion about if he would be dismissed as he could be recognised as he was well known in the area.
