End of Season v Half Term Holidays

Have done exactly the same. Booked to go to Malta without thinking. Just assumed the season would be finished, as it always has been by half term. But I've seen us win it twice and know plenty of people who will happily use my season card! And my children are 13 and 14. Only a few years left of holiday time with them.

Cheers Guys..
Looks like I may be able to book for 9 days going on Monday 25th. Cheaper than going on 20th - 21st. going to Greece, Turkey, or somewnere similar, Therefore only miss Gerards Birthday Cup Final. My lad is more bothered about missing the last game than I am. Wherecer I go, I will make sure I find some blues to hopefully celebrate with!!

In December 1998, we booked a trip to New York for that half-term week, flying out on 29th May 1999. After all, it looked like we'd screwed up Div 2.

did you get to see the game in the States?
No. We were on someone's house for brunch so we logged on to the Internet to catch the last 5 minutes of normal time on the BBC text service. Saw we were 2-0 down, which we weren't too happy about then we got the 2 goals.

My son and I went mental, much to the consternation of the Yanks, one of who asked us "Have you guys just won the Superbowl or something"? So I carefully explained the concept of leagues, promotion, relegation and the play-off.

Eventually he grasped it and said" So you've just come third in the third league. What would you have been like if you'd really won something?" I thought of that remark 13 years later.
