Endoscopy

You must be a real wimp. I had a knoboscopy every 6 months after having my kidney removed. There was only one occasion out of about 8-10 that it was anything more than a bit uncomfortable. The thought of it is actually the worst part. Good luck to the OP that it isn't anything serious.
My mate had Prostate cancer, he's had plenty of the "knoboscopy" as you put it (made me laugh) and says once you've had a few you get used to them and he doesn't even worry anymore.

Something to consider
He said I only needed a half and I said, I don’t want to be back in a few years having the other half done, to which he replied, I don’t want to see you either
He then said, once I’m opened up, there is a very small chance that they will put in a full one if they find arthritis in the “good” side
That's what is happening now with me, the part he left in is falling apart with arthritis but he keeps on saying I have to hang on for a few more years .

Hey there Blues! Anyone here ever had an Endoscopy? I have been having this weird symptom in my throat where I feel like there is a lump when lying on my right side and occasional heartburn. But when I lie on my left side or on my back, I don’t feel it. I do suffer from extreme health anxiety and I have pushed for and finally scheduled an Endoscopy. I am worried they might find something bad like Cancer. I should have done this long time ago and feel like I have left it too late. My CT scan recently of the abdomen has come back normal but I don’t think that actually tells anything. I am just venting here. Do they tell the results immediately after the procedure?
Deep breathing helps, advice given by a consultant whilst having a colonoscopy.
Used it when having an upper gastrointestinal Endoscopy. I eventually retched, luckily the nurse informed the doctor he'd completed the necessary procedure.

Had Oesophageal dilatation 25 times in the last 30 months or so as was struggling digesting food.. Put a balloon down and stretch your gullet. Fucking horrible and said after the first time never again! Browse this place moments before I go in. Calms the nerves! Love the anaesthetic hate the spray, gag like fuck though. Seen a few bottle out whilst there. Great staff.

Word of advice. Don't look at the equipment.

I wouldn't say my blood pressure didn't go up a bit. Generally, the staff can make a great difference. I started my treatment privately(work gave us BUPA) and then moved to the NHS after I retired and BUPA wanted £700 per month. BUPA was great if youlike a nice room, sandwiches and maybe a 3 hour wait for the treatment. NHS gave an appointment for say 1000, arrive at 0955, bish bosh bosh all done by 1015! NHS every time.

That's the mindset anyone on here needs to adopt for these types of uncomfortable procedures, just 20 minutes to get through. When I had the Endoscopy I arranged to meet a few friends in the pub later that day, that was kind of a reward/incentive.

All invasive treatments are unpleasant but it's worth doing.

Got three fillings at the Dentist tomorrow, not something to look forward to but I'll adopt the grin and bear it attitude.

The dentist won't be able to do the fillings if you're grinning. Be careful what you bear/bare.

It wasn't the camera going in or coming out that was the issue, although it was "uncomfortable"
It was entering in my bladder that was the painful part
He asked me to cough do the doors would open, but every time I tried, it was like someone stabbing me. In the end he just rammed the fucking thing in and I really yelped
Very casually he said " there we go. We're in now"
When I went home I thought it was a bit strange that after the camera was withdrawn he licked it clean

Had the same worry a couple of years back. Endoscopy after intravenous sedation. Too out of it to remember much but I didn't feel a thing. Turn out to be diet related.
