Enes Unal

Very soon young players will not bother to join us in the first place, go to a Monaco instead develop and then get bought by City 2 seasons later for 40m.

Go out on loan as the club request, score a shit ton of goals and play well and your reward is to be "possibly" sold or suffer the same fate as Itchy and we laughed when Rashford was not getting game time.

A skillful player but not sure he is cut out for the Prem. You have to consider the quality of the teams he scored those goals against. Clearly the academy is first and foremost a business and not a conveyor belt to supply our first team squad. The odd very special talent will make the breakthrough but they will be few and far between. Our policy will be to go head to head for the very best young talent with the big European hitters and these a bit like Jesus will be deemed good enough to go straight into the thick of the action.

Here is what his agent said the other day, in response to these stories.

Enes Ünal will decide upon the direction he will take with regard to his career after first conferring with Manchester City…

…He has not made an agreement with any club at this moment in time.

Tbf he was an EU citizen, they didn't need one, although I'm sure if they did, a couple of videos off somebodies phone would have convinced the FA.
I know, but I always like bringing up that money laundering scheme.

I think these deals with a buy back clause might actually be better than loan moves. We've seen a lot of loanees struggle for game time in certain leagues but if a team like Villarreal have actually invested their own money into the player then there's much more incentive to actually use him and develop him. If he does well and we can buy him back on the cheap then that's fine with me.

Yeah the loans only really make sense if it's to a lower league side (most are strapped for cash) or a foreign side with bad need of the player like FC Twente this season (frequently used our lads as a front three).

According to transfermarkt.de we have sold Enes Ünal to Villarreal for 14 million Euros. City has a buy back clause of 20 million Euros. Sounds like a sensible deal to me.
