"England" National Anthem

I like the anthem.

It is short, sweet and slightly ridiculous in its wording. It shows that England, unlike some other pompous nations like the French, doesn't take itself too seriously, while the downbeat tune has just the right amount of gravitas for a nation which is not quite as important as it used to be.

Those who suggest Jerusalem or Land of Hope and Glory should read the words of those songs very carefully. They are absurd when applied to modern England.

It's shit and I will never sing it as long as I live.

Give us something to be proud about our country, not some rich woman in London.

Being Welsh I love our anthem and also thinking the other celtic anthems are brilliant. Lyrics in the Scottish anthem paticulalry brilliant lol

I thought God Save the Queen is technically the British National anthem anyway?

Jerusalem i think would sound very patriotic in a stadium environment, the type of song to send shivers down and hairs up

God Save the Queen - truly awful, awful anthem.
When will this awful anachronism be ditched??
there was a time you could have been hung, drawn and quartered for writing that but I think it would be awfully, awfully anachronistic - just quartering is awful enough for you...

This gives me goosebumps and i am english. Our "anthem" is shite and i refuse to sing it.
