England Squad - Euro 2024

Using a song about not carrying the world upon your shoulders, to make an advert about him carrying England on his shoulders...love him or hate him the media are going to fuck this lad up. It's a good job he didn't come to the prem.

The BBC has the England training session streamed the other day. Bunch of locals watching. According to the live feed they were singing Bell-ing-ham when it was actually Harry Kane in a German accent. People need to calm down, if they'd watched him in the CL they'd see we are going to need more than just him to win this thing.
As usual, the spectre of reputation raises its head and players won't play in correct positions due to idiotic selection.
England will not win this thing. In fact, I predict they will crash out at the groups.
I don't see anything to suggest that history will not repeat itself once we are away from our beloved Wembley. Even at Wembley England eventually fucked it.
Uefa virtually gave us the last euros by playing our games at home in the last tournament, and we still couldn't win it.
The nation gets played by the advertisers selling hope and glory, but the FA can't back it up with a manager that has the knowledge to succeed at any level of football.
And the fans are just as shambolic as the football staff. I await the next 2 weeks of embarrassing behaviour and drunken violence shaming us all, again.

We've always had the attitude we're the best and just had to turn up. Our coaching at youth level was shocking and on the European/World Stage it was therefore no shock we actually didn't perform at major tournaments. We've never had the players to keep the ball and control the pace of a game against top European teams so we always end up under the cosh and conceding. We believe the PL is the best and our players are the best and always overhype them, it's no different this time. Who in the squad has been a key player on the global stage in the biggest of games?

And if it's not the players we've had a lack of understanding or acknowledgement of the importance of tactics and formation - that they play just as much a part. Playing Scholes left midfield, playing Gerrard and Lampard together in a 4-4-2 etc. And even now we have a fixed system that doesn't work with the talent we have, it pigeon holes the talent into it. Southgate's been better than the majority before him, but English coaching and management is still a million miles away from its foreign counterparts.

Maybe we get some luck and we can overcome the major tournament hurdle but in a tough knockout game there will come a time where we are under pressure and we still lack the players to get a foot on the ball and control the pace of the game. That was shown in the friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
