England Squad - Euro 2024

I'd be surprised if Southgate's squad could beat an England B squad with a decent manager and a couple of weeks to prepare.

It'd probably be a hard fought 0-0 though.
You are being generous with it being hard fought. It would be more mind numbing tedium

Grealish and Rice are Irish anyways so neither should be going. As a race we don't deserve nice things like Finals or sunshine.

Or his confidence is totally shattered. Because let's face it, a £100m footballer should be going to the Euros. And nobody is harder on Jack than Jack himself.
Luckily he has a coach that will build him back up.

Also he won't be tainted by the expected failure and the media will hammer the waistcoat for not taking him.

It’s decent, but not great in parts. To win, we’d have to stumble on a perfect balance that we haven’t found yet.

Bellingham is a strange player to knit into the side. He’s not a 6, he’s not really an 8 either. Madrid used him more as a false 9. England can’t do that as we have Kane, unless Southgate goes full Mike Bassett and goes 4-4-effing-2.
Bellingham isn't even a 0 never mind a 6 or an 8....... ooohhhh you meant the number on his shirt not the number you'd give him after playing a match..... ;-)

Think they where both born in England but I take your point that they both played for ROI

Looks like it's going to be a squad of 40 based on the names mentioned, and will be refined from there. Makes sense as there are a lot of injury concerns, but this is more a case of getting people involved in and around a camp for the future and I'm sure a lot will be straight to the beach in a couple of weeks but better for a small taste of being in and around the squad potentially.

I'm therefore hopeful Jack is called up and given an opportunity to force his way in. There are plenty of names so far that simply don't make a final 26.

FWIW Bellingham as a false 9 was a compeltely first half of the season thing, since then he's back to playing as a box to box, which is why he's not scoring anymore.

Definitely won't be 40. Most I can see is 32 or 33.

Surely, the ones who will obviously not make the final cut would be better off on a beach somewhere getting a rest ?
