England squad

Can you play for England if you weren't available for your club game prior?
I think the answer is yes. In fact I'm sure of it.
I believe it is much harder to play for your club in the game following an international match if you'd said you were injured.
This might have changed after the gpc's antics, they brought a rule in that a doctor, working with the FA, decided if you were fit enough to play.

If I remember correctly didn't Scotland tell the scousers if Robertson pulled out of a squad they would block him playing in the following game? Or did I dream it?

According to the media, Pep said Grealish asked to go. He then went onto highlight what little training Jack has done.
If he plays, Grealish will plummet in my estimation. I love Jack so let's see what happens.
It won’t be the first time Jack has let us down tbf.

Probably yes. I'm sure it's a rule put in place because if the gpc's antics.

Walker and Grealish with the England squad is just a piss take.
Grealish and Foden now withdrawn from the sqaud.

Chelsea pair Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer, Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, Manchester City midfielders Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale have all pulled out.

8 withdrawals so far. Funny thing is there's actually legitimate reasons for all of them, as most of those didn't complete 90 minutes at the weekend. This is just the the result of the never ending fixture schedule. This is what uefa/fifa have caused so there can be no complaints when sides are fielding complete second string teams as nobody is fully fit.

Think it’s also to do with Carsley being a lame duck and withdrawing won’t have as much consequence.

There's probably something in that. I doubt this will be the last time we see mass withdrawals from internationals that have significantly less importance than a 3rd round carabao cup game though even when Tuchel is in as he will know himself the rest will benefit the players and he'll get a fitter squad when it actually matters.

Wait til we get relegated again and have to play Bulgaria, Kosovo and Lithuania!

Well I for one will be watching every single second, of something else.

Won't this be something like 8 international games now by November, when the premier league itself has only played 11? After a major international competition in the summer too.

The excessive number of games has led to us returning to having an England B team, just pretending we don't. Whilst I'm pleased carsley is mostly trying out new things with new players, and pushing the kids he's been close to in his managerial career, if I catch even a glimpse of a highlight of any international game this coming week I can assure you it's in error.

Players need to start saying no, they have the power and are wealthy influential people in their own right.

Happy to see Grealish and Foden have withdrawn. I suspect Foden has been got at by Pep.

Now, why the fuck is Walker still in the squad. This could be a career ending move by him. I can’t imagine Pep will be happy.

I think it maybe 6 games but I totally get your point. These international fixtures from the start of the season and throughout the autumn seem to be set in stone now. Absolute pain in the arse.
