This could be interesting, it would be nice to see Roy go with the attacking flair we have shown in the past two games and see what it performs like against top opposition, if we lose playing that way we know what we need to do against better opposition, but it's pointless just setting up to defend in a friendly because it will teach us nothing.

Hopefully the non-European team will be Argentina.

England have unveiled their plans for the build-up to the Brazil World Cup.

Next month they play two November friendlies before the World Cup draw is made on December 6.

The first will be on a Friday or Saturday night against a non-European team that is yet to be confirmed. The second will be against Germany at Wembley on November 19.

Club England managing director Adrian Bevington confirmed on Wednesday that England expect to play Germany, four days after another friendly, which will also take place at the national stadium.

'We are pretty well advanced (in negotiations for the November friendlies),' Bevington said in a joint interview with the BBC and Al-Jazeera.

'I expect to be in a position in the next 24 hours to confirm one of them. I don’t think it is any great secret that we are expecting to play Germany in the second of the two games next month.

'That would conclude the 150th anniversary celebrations of the FA so it would be a great way to end the year.

The opponents for the first fixture are to be confirmed, but it is thought that either Australia or Argentina could be the visitors to London.

Bevington added: 'We are in talks with non-European opponents at the moment with regards to the first game which would be on Friday (November 15) or Saturday (November 16), that is still to be confirmed.

'We had been looking to play Uruguay in the first game, but they are now in the play-offs so we are now speaking with other opponents.

'We expect to announce that on Thursday.'
Warm-up: England will also take on Daniel Agger, middle, and his Denmark team-mates in March

Bevington also confirmed that England will then play Denmark in a friendly in March, before playing a final end-of-season game at Wembley - that will also serve as a World Cup send-off - against opposition that will be decided after the World Cup draw.

After the Premier League season is finished, the squad will fly to America to play the USA at a North American city yet to be confirmed as well as flying to Miami for a final training camp before playing one more warm-up game ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

The Football Association (FA) has been planning for the build-up to the World Cup for some time and now they can make those plans public following the team’s qualification.

Argentina pulled out according to Talkshite.

It'll be Australia or some other team they can dick to get the jingoism going.

Argentina would be good.

Or maybe Ivory Coast?

Ivory Coast would be good but Argentina would be the big one and arguably the biggest test going into the World Cup, I see them as the main threat outside of Brazil to win the World Cup.

The FA would be stupid not to try and get a South American team in a friendly going into the World Cup in my opinion so if it's not Argenitna then I hope it's Colombia.

I heard it might be Austrailia but for real?? I want us playing against the favourites for the cup to see what confidence we can achieve and games that will really test our ability, you cannot develop or grow as a team playing sides weaker than you.

What a waste if it was Australia ..if I was a England supporter I would rather see them test themselves against a real World Cup contender like Ivory Coast , Chile, or Colombia

This.

It's weird because Talksport said Argentina turned our offer down, but that Mail quoted: 'We had been looking to play Uruguay in the first game, but they are now in the play-offs so we are now speaking with other opponents.

So who do we believe??

I hope it's a South American team especially seen as we are going into a world cup in South America, it just makes sense.

With all due respect to Australia, how would playing them improve us or test us? We should be playing as many of the top nations as we can in the time friendlies are available to be played, who knows, we might get some suprise results playing good attacking football which could give us extra confidence going into the competition.

By your logic why would anyone better than England want to play England then?

Surely you'd be happy if Germany jagged you to play Spain then?

Exactly, and to the poster above Ivory Coast, and to the poster above Chile and Columbia are not amongst the World Cup favourites. England are better than them three.

It's a great shame that there are no plans for England to play an opponent we've never faced before.

The last "new" country England faced was Ghana in March 2011.

There are well over 100 different countries who England have yet to play.

Any top nation playing England will get a tough game in a friendly, we would be a decent test for any team.

In recent friendlies against the top nations only Holland has beat us, and that's out of Spain, Brazil (twice) and Italy!

Australia are not going to challenge England, if we can't get another top team along with Germany then why not someone like France? Bosnia? Portugal? to name a few.

England has to do what it can to get the best possible competition to face to let us try our new attacking football on to see what we can do with it against the top players, Australia will not offer that if you ask me!
