Do I seriously need to explain why we'd get hammered by Germany playing with the same 2 man midfield/2 forwards system that has been deployed by England in the past 2 games? Did you not see our game against Bayern?sam-caddick said:This could be interesting, it would be nice to see Roy go with the attacking flair we have shown in the past two games and see what it performs like against top opposition, if we lose playing that way we know what we need to do against better opposition, but it's pointless just setting up to defend in a friendly because it will teach us nothing.
Pack the midfield out or any top team hammers us. It's that simple.

-- 17 Oct 2013, 10:17 --

Don't agree with that. I wouldn't back us to beat many South American teams in South America and Colombia are currently the 3rd best team in that continent. Think we'd beat Ivory Coast though.ManCitizens. said:billymumphrey said:sam-caddick said:This.
It's weird because Talksport said Argentina turned our offer down, but that Mail quoted: 'We had been looking to play Uruguay in the first game, but they are now in the play-offs so we are now speaking with other opponents.
So who do we believe??
I hope it's a South American team especially seen as we are going into a world cup in South America, it just makes sense.
With all due respect to Australia, how would playing them improve us or test us? We should be playing as many of the top nations as we can in the time friendlies are available to be played, who knows, we might get some suprise results playing good attacking football which could give us extra confidence going into the competition.
By your logic why would anyone better than England want to play England then?
Surely you'd be happy if Germany jagged you to play Spain then?
Exactly, and to the poster above Ivory Coast, and to the poster above Chile and Columbia are not amongst the World Cup favourites. England are better than them three.
