England v Brazil.

Ha ha Wrighty burst the bubble when they were getting carried away asking if he thought England would dominate the world cup...."Not really"

Laura Woods “Have England sent a message to the rest of the world”?
Ian Wright “No, not really” haha

I’ve said it before, but this is just further proof of what a shit coach gargoyle two is.

MLS is about his level.

They did send a message. The message was 'Attack us and put our defence under some or any kind of pressure and you can beat us'. I've seen a fair amount of England women and even with Millie Carthorse at the heart of defence they look vulnerable when teams demonstrate some attacking ambition.

1st half England played really well and scored a beautifully worked goal. However, their dominance in that half was aided and abetted by a scared Brazil who afforded them far too much respect. Even going so far as to change formation from the 4-4-2 which had brought them their success to a more negative 5-3-1-1. This changed at half-time and Brazil reverted to type and caused England all sorts of problems in the 2nd half. WIegman, the much vaunted coach, seemed reluctant to make any changes to either tactics or the personnel that were on the pitch and the only surprise when Brazil equalised was that it had taken so long in coming. The error from the ragette keeper was quickly glossed over, almost like it never happened. Credit where it's due though as she did make 1 very good penalty save in the shootout. Other than the ragette who took one England dispatched their spot kicks extremely well including the two City players who stepped up. Next up are the mighty Aussies.
