England v Brazil.

Laura Woods “Have England sent a message to the rest of the world”?
Ian Wright “No, not really” haha
The same woods who said it was a sell out after the attendance was giving as 83k still amazing but please stop with the bullshit to build the game into something it ain’t ............. if you wanna be like the men then they should be ripped to shreds like them because the reason it went to pens was down to the keeper and her howler .......... imagine Pickford doing that, he would have been ripped to bits

Like the Chelsea manager being co com though least she’s honest and doesn’t sugarcoat things

1st half England played really well and scored a beautifully worked goal. However, their dominance in that half was aided and abetted by a scared Brazil who afforded them far too much respect. Even going so far as to change formation from the 4-4-2 which had brought them their success to a more negative 5-3-1-1. This changed at half-time and Brazil reverted to type and caused England all sorts of problems in the 2nd half. WIegman, the much vaunted coach, seemed reluctant to make any changes to either tactics or the personnel that were on the pitch and the only surprise when Brazil equalised was that it had taken so long in coming. The error from the ragette keeper was quickly glossed over, almost like it never happened. Credit where it's due though as she did make 1 very good penalty save in the shootout. Other than the ragette who took one England dispatched their spot kicks extremely well including the two City players who stepped up. Next up are the mighty Aussies.
I pretty much agree with your summary. Mary Earps did make a mess of the Brazil goal which is unlike her, she is by far the best England goalkeeper and currently head and shoulders above Roebuck, IMO. Earps’ penalty save was superb the way she knocked it around the post was brilliant. I also thought the penalties were terrific by the way, considering the pressure and love that last one, she hammered it and the goalkeeper barely moved and it was in the back of the net.
I don’t get the posters who knock the woman’s game. It’s never going to be on the same level as the mens, how can it? They don’t have the stamina for a start but it has come on tremendously given the few years it has been professional. A few more years and will be better. It’s taken more than 150 years for football to get to the standard it has now and I’m not including the top standard like City because that’s way above most and without Pep we wouldn’t be playing it to that level either.

You could take the 11 best male players on here and play them against the Lionesses.

Our lot would get near the ball.

They’re absolutely mustard.
