The lad can barely fucking run but has a good cross when on the right. Blue tinted glasses aside Shaw was the choice after this season but fair enough if Chilwell

Shaw was dreadful against Romania. Sure it was a scratch team and a pointless match, but he may well have played himself out of the side.

The only weak link we have in the whole England set up is Southgate.........and Rashford

Phillips is a useless player, he does nothing. Wasn't expecting him to put in a Grealish or foden central though so I suppose that was to be expected given the squad.

Tripper is a weird one. I did mention in the friendly games how surprisingly comfortable he looked there, seemed a lot better than Shaw but I expected chilwell to come in. Perhaps there's an issue with him seeing as he's not made the bench but it's likely the fact he's gone with a back 4 and wants the better defensive protection. Could be an issue with two right footers down the left though, makes things very narrow.

Whilst sterling definitely doesn't deserve a place based on club form, he's been one of the main men for England, I never expected him to be dropped. Much like City, we also need some pace upfront so he or Rashford had to play, we won't be seeing Grealish mount and foden in the same starting 11.

Overall there's a few question marks but most of them are to do with the squad he's taken. A surprisingly less negative lineup than expected.

Fancy us to win with that side, the city right side to light it up, do all the hard work and the subs to seal it.

Sterling would have been an ideal impact sub to take advantage of tired legs. Grealish should have been starting. As for the idiot saying that Phillips is useless and does nothing, he is the nearest we have to Kante, who presumably is equally useless. We cannot create chances unless we win the ball in midfield, hence the selection of Rice and Phillips.
