Because tournament football isn't the same as club football. Not even slightly. Club football gets you on the plane that's all. Foden got his chance based on his club form, he had 2 opportunities to nail down his starting spot, he did nothing of note and so somebody else got the chance and performed better. Its not a case of him being dropped, it's a case of somebody was given a chance and did better so the shirt is theirs to lose.

I suppose where we fundamentally disagree is the notion the other players did anything more than Foden. I didn’t see it.
