In fairness mate you give England enough credit to cover the whole forum. I’m not sure you know what a good team actually is. We did get a solid draw against Scotland though a very decent team no doubt, no Iceland mind but then who is?

If we beat Belgium in the final I will give Waistcoat the credit he deserves, actually beating a good side however dull it may be.

There is a dearth of talent amongst the normal top international sides it’s why France were highly fancied(shame about that brain fart:-))

It terms of ability England and Belgium I would say have more decent players than anyone left in the competition. You can name the embarrassment of riches these other decent sides have if you like. It would be interesting to see.

I enjoyed the win and I will enjoy the next one when it happens, the country in general had a bit of a lift and there's nothing wrong with that.

Is Southgate a bit boring? Probably, but fans wanting the cherry on the cake are expecting a wee bit too much IMO football is a results game and we are in with a decent chance to break our 1966 duck and come out with a bit of silverware.

The Austrians took them to extra time. I'd still put the Italians as favourites but if it is a tight game then it could turn on a sterling breakaway or a shot from distance.

Chiellini's replacements aren't at the same individual standard, there is some potential vulnerability in the left side when the left wing back goes forward.

It doesn't matter how you get results, just that you do get results.

We aren't going to win the competition trying to play like 1970 Brazil. If we play an Italy or Belgium in the final, we should stay solid at the back and rely on Sterling, Kane, Foden, Grealish or one of the other incredibly talented players taking their chance.

Completely agree. He's gotta play them. So far, he's got the results from his selections. But if we don't get to the final (or even if we don't win), Southgate will be under severe scrutiny regardless of who he picks.

I think he's got the right idea of being more defensive though. We're just incredibly lucky that we appear to have a very easy run to the final.

Fair weather fans watch and moan. But then they are there when winning happens as if they've 'supported' the team all the way through.

Yes doing better than ever before..... Semi in wc, semi of nation league, just beat Germany in a cup competition where we have failed every time previously.... We've not even finished this tourney yet. And
Southgate has the best Winrate of ANY modern England manager.
