With Bellingham unavailable and Phillips having hardly played, how is Phil not given a shot here? Southgate said before he couldn't play him in midfield because he didn't play there for us, but he has been playing there for us and surely he'd add some drive and flair.

It says it all that AA is now preferred in Midfield to Phil and John plays a CB role rather than a CB/DM because AA is in front of him. The guy has a world beating team and he is doing his very best to fuck it up.
