Mbappe speeds up then slows defender down, sometimes a few times, to enable him to utilise his
lightening speed repeatedly from dead stop position. Its hard for any defender to adjust feet quickly
enough or keep their distance when required. Not easy for anyone. Think they need to starve him of
the ball. Midfield need to block off the passing options to him so he simply has fewer options in the
game, less time on the ball, less opportunity for walker yellow card & more likely to frustrate Mbappe
as game goes on.
Walker hasn't had the pace this season, likely because of the groin injury. He didn't look quick at all against Senegal either. Hopefully he was saving something and he's fine but that's the key battle, unless Mbappe switches and gives Shaw and Maguire a go instead. Either way we have to utilise Rice/Henderson to double up on their wide players.
