England v Senegal - Tue 10th June '25, 19:45 | Friendly

Tuchel is a fraud. Always has been. Big mistake to appoint him. Very limited tactically.

He's done well being tactically limited.

I thought he was very lucky with Chelsea and is overrated. I think he will be a disaster for England. Let’s wait and see what happens. I admire your optimism though.

I think he will be a disaster for England.

Unless he wins the world cup he will be labelled as disaster no matter what. will be the same for the next guy and all the future managers. He could pick the perfect squad, playing attacking entertaining stuff but that means jack shit when we get knocked out a semi final and the tidal wave of abuse comes.

Pay me what he's being paid (50k per week after stoppages, apparently) , and you can feel free to label me the biggest disaster to walk God's green earth.

I've often thought maybe there is some kind of outside agency influencing the England manager's selection process. I started thinking it when under the vile Pisscan every English rag appeared to be an automatic first choice for whatever position - even if they weren't first choice for the vermin themselves. Remember the way Shrek was always the first name on the team sheet, regardless of form?

The logic behind this thought is that -despite evidence to the contrary- not all England managers are thick morons who don't understand football, as much as we'd like to think they are. So why have so many of them continuously picked players who aren't doing well for their respective clubs? And why have they selected players and played them out of their usual position for no justifiable reason?

Is it a bit too far-fetched to suggest certain people at the FA have a vested interest in ensuring certain players are selected?

This was definitely happening under Hodgson

Typical FA appointment. There is no long term plan that doesn't pander to the sponsors.

No England manager will ever please, no one. Only possible light relief is if we win a world cup even then it would be through gritted teeth or silent till we next lose a match.
We will either all be dead, or our teeth fallen out, before we win a world cup!

Football is a commercial enterprise and no-one would be appointed to the role of England manager who did not understand this and how it relates to squad selection decisions.

Because no manager can please everyone, fans are biased , hate players who play for their rival teams and when they don’t like the look of the squad they imply there must be FA influence. Kane and Bellingham have had great seasons for Bayern and Madrid yet some suggest they should be dropped ?! Southgate picked young exciting players, we’ve had one of the youngest sides last few tournaments and it still never pleased.

Kyle is shot, some of the youngsters did OK but I got the impression the senior players didn’t give a shit. It does make me wonder if Tuchel has already lost the dressing room.
