So then, your team Blues?

I don't rate this Uruguay team at all in my opinion and Suarez doesn't look fit at all.

I think we will win this.

Sterling-------Sturridge-----Welbeck
---------Henderson--Barkley--------
------------------Gerrard----------------
Baines--Jagielka--Cahill--Johnson
--------------------Hart-------------------

I wasn't convinced with Gerrard, Baines or Johnson against Italy but it's inevitable they will play, for me as well I would conisder dropping Rooney.

My team would be:
-------------------------Hart--------------------
Johnson-----Cahill-----Jagielka-----Cole
---------------Milner-----Gerrard-----------
--Sterling----------------------Ox-Chamb--
-----------Rooney-----Sturridge-----------

I have never rated Baines, I think he's a shit defender. Not taking Cole is a huge mistake.

I think Roy's team will be the same as the other day with a slight change in formation/tactics/players in different positions. He's got to get those right though.

There were positives to take from the other day. And we will have learnt a great deal. I think we are capable of winning!

That'd be good for the QFs

I like this team. Rooney off at half time if he's shit, one last chance to prove he's our best player. Id love it if Barkley came on and scored the winner to cement his place in the side.

Not an England fan, but surely you'd have to play Rooney either up top on his own, where I think he is at his best, or in behind sturridge

Raheem Sterling is quick, but he isn't going to score many goals, and it's just daft to let him run at defences from deep central positions....it creates excitement, but just wastes possession. For me he's best as a late impact sub when teams are tired.

I'd narrowly expect an England win. A draw v Uruguay, and a win against Costa Rica would probably be enough to qualify as I think Italy and England will both comfortably beat Costa Rica. They worked very hard against Uruguay, but rode their luck, and Uruguay were very poor in that game......far worse than England

Hart

jones
cahil
jagielka
baines

gerard
wilshire
sterling
wellbeck

rooney
sturidge

rooney gets 60 mins to prove his worth then off for barkley think we can get at uraguay down the flanks and at set plays.

If England WANT to have overlapping, roving full backs, then they need to set up as a 5-4-1 on defense switching to a 3-5-2 when we win the ball, and with the full backs making it a 3-3-4 on attack.

That said, we set up as a 4-2-3-1, with no real width OR "forced" width and weakness through the middle, so it's a matter of picking your poison and we seem to like a drop of both!

England seem a step behind and lacking in technical ability. How many years have we been saying that? If the likes of Henderson and Wiltshire are the "future of a England," then we are looking at a(nother) lost generation....

I see a 2-2 here.

Hart

Jones (Can't stand Johnson; overrated going forward and shite defending)
Jagielka
Cahill
Shaw

Gerrard
Henderson
Milner
Sterling (Jury still out, but has a lot of energy)

Sturridge
Rooney

-------------------------Hart--------------------------

Johnson--------Cahill----------Jagielka-------Baines

-------------Barkley----------------Gerrard--------------

Sterling---------------Rooney--------------Chamberlain

----------------------Sturridge---------------------------

Wellbeck on Look North West - "Rooney has to play because he has lots of caps for England"! Well so has Peter Shilton but no ones clamoring for him to start.
