Is the team I would go for. Since he will never drop the captain Gerrard I've put Milner in next to him as what was seriously lacking in Midfield was energy and someone closing the other players down which is what Henderson was supposed to do. Move Sterling to the left and bring in the Ox on the right (if fit) and drop the fat waste of oxygen Rooney and play Barkley who actually can be arsed to put in a shift.
Of course Woy won't pick this team and he's already done a fine job in riling up Suarez for the next game so expect him to play out of his skin. Another managerial masterclass from him there.

when rooney plays up top on his own he gets frustrated and comes deep to get involved, he doesnt have the discipline to stay up there. i have a feeling roy will play the same team but we will see chamberlain instead of welbeck. the occasion seems too big for lallana and barkley is still a raw talent but great to be brought on last 20 mins. personally id go withMarvin said:Not an England fan, but surely you'd have to play Rooney either up top on his own, where I think he is at his best, or in behind sturridge
Raheem Sterling is quick, but he isn't going to score many goals, and it's just daft to let him run at defences from deep central positions....it creates excitement, but just wastes possession. For me he's best as a late impact sub when teams are tired.
I'd narrowly expect an England win. A draw v Uruguay, and a win against Costa Rica would probably be enough to qualify as I think Italy and England will both comfortably beat Costa Rica. They worked very hard against Uruguay, but rode their luck, and Uruguay were very poor in that game......far worse than England

i dont think rooney had a terrible game against italy but he doesn't fit in our best team. milner will track back on the left and he will do it well and id leave chamberlain further forward so we're essentially playing a 4-3-3
Forecast for Sao Paulo is looking good. Rain is forecast but the temperature is expected to be around 16c, it's hotter HERE at the moment. After the questionable fitness of the team on Saturday we should look much better later in the game. No excuses, we need to win this.

I would genuinely rather have Phil fucking Jones at RB than Johnson. Suarez always drifts out left and right backs with some positional awareness get caught out let alone that muppet.
