A big problem is that Henderson and Gerrard are sitting far too deep. One of them needs to push up as another passing outlet. Wilshire or Barkley for Henderson would fix it.

The replay really shows that was wank defending. Not one of our defenders picked up Suarez's run it's not like they know how dangerous he is....

It was almost an action replay of Mario's goal, from not stopping the cross to failing to shadow their top striker. If the defensive basics are not right there's no chance of progress in these tournaments.
