Everyone I know knew his worth to the team.
However Milner, whilst a great and honest pro lacked the ability to take his game to the next level or have the skill to open up teams like others can. He was a workhorse but you need more than that in the highest level games, and he was frustrating then, unless he was expected to be the workhorse and nothing else.

We are nowhere near good enough to pick 5 attack minded players. Barry and Milner both got plenty from no nothing fans especially early on with Barry. This obsession with every player having the ability to open up teams is laughable for this squad.

What bugs me though is why is it sterling OR rashford, and not Alli or lingard OR rashford?
