Rooney is a shocking midfielder. All he does is ping cross field passes to players who are marked, meaning they have to pull of a great first touch to not lose it immediately, even if they do bring it down they aren't in a good position anyway. For some reason you get praised for doing that in England because it looks impressive, but it's completely pointless and unthreatening. If you're going to play a diagonal it has to be in behind a full back, not just square.

England are utter wank though, there is no movement whatsoever
