Enough is enough

This sudden about face, constant cries of 'fuck everyone else' and a complete about turn by many as to what is healthy for football/the game and what isn't is a bit laughable to be honest. Combine it with the ridiculous sensititvity being expressed by many City fans regarding what was always going to come in the media (regardless of what club it was) and it is in danger of making us the most hated, arrogant, paranoid set of fans around. Can't we leave those sort of attributes to the rags?
JMA (and Wireblue),
Some greats points and I wish I had time to contribute further. I, too, wish for the nirvana of us being a successful club followed by humble and good natured support, unfortunately, football is the game of the masses and with those masses come a varied selection of itellect and understanding.
It is a (large) demographic of the support that journalists know will bite on their outlandish claims and retaliate with arrogance and nonesense and push further towards ragesque support.
It's sad to say, but, collectively, football fans are the very much same even if they don't like to believe it that way.
You feed us a successful team, the crowds will swell as will their heads and egos and our reputation and perception amoungst others might just change beyond recognition.

The problem is at the moment, and not many people actually remark on it apart from by inference, is that the Champions League is a closed shop and has been for years.

The "Top 4" (note the Sky reference) are merrily getting their snouts stuck into the trough of CL money and thereby guaranteeing they can continue to outspend the rest of the PL because they are earning £30m more a season than other club in the PL.

They destabilise and plunder teams getting close to them by offering huge sums and wages to top players of potential competitors and make sure they get their man by promising them the Holy Grail of "CL competition" along with astronomical wages.

If 4 teams are hoovering up most of the best players in the PL, meaning lower cash clubs have to keep hunting through the bargain buys department, they are of course going to stay in a commanding position. These players have all been "bought" by the top clubs over the last few years and most of the other clubs, even those with decent cash like Spuds, can't stop their players wanting to go to the Top 4 thereby ensuring it remains a "Top 4" of the same clubs all the time.

Chelski with SWP, Cashley Cole, Anelka (going back far enough Lampard & Joe Cole)
Scum with Rooney, Carrick, Ferdinand, Berbatov, Tevez
Dippers with Keane, Mascherano, Benayoun? (an attempt made on Gareth Barry also)
Arsenal - are an exception here mainly apart from their kiddy signings

City are only doing what these clubs have been doing over the last 10 years, except we are going to do it over 1-2 years and thereby opening competition up for those CL places (I hope).
