You won’t change society unless you change the education system.

It’s an outdated model designed to justify high salaries and importance of adults than benefitting the actual kids going through the system.

They are set up to fail and unless you have a strong loving family or an internal will to succeed then you will fail. This brings hopelessness and anger to the masses. If you feel like you have no hope or future and no pride in anything then it’s hard not to latch onto things that give you a meaning. Sadly for many in society, the only meaning is crime.

There is always talk of discipline and yes that is important but talk of the bygone days and national service is not the answer. Our very own club was created to help feral youths in the local area 150 years ago when discipline was you could do whatever you want.

Society tells you now that you aren’t a success unless you have the nice house, the sports car, the holidays to “marbs”, “beefa” or Dubai, the regular meals at San Carlo wearing all the designer clothes.

You’re not going to get all of that if you’re working a normal job so people look for ways to shortcut it.

That’s not to say that the feral lot now shouldn’t be punished, they should, strongly but it’s just papering over cracks.

Not sure how you can change a whole countries psyche.

Last night a 14yr old boy was stabbed to death in Harpurhey by another 14yr old. FOURTEEN!

The 2nd stabbing in the area within a week.

I drove past the scene last night with my 6yr old and she started asking questions.

Sometimes a feel like giving up on society.

Think it’s in South Korea, if you commit a serious crime, you and your family get punished - it sounds exteme but it might make these so called mums & dads keep an eye on their ferral offspring who are out with friends carrying blades.

The whole country is fucked and it’s going to require a shit load of money and radical solutions from whichever party is in power. Problem is though it could take 50 years to sort. Growing up in the 70‘s we never answered back to parents, teachers etc. When we saw a copper we all shot ourselves even though we had done nothing wrong and the copper was just walking down the street not interested in us. I can guarantee at some stage the parents or friends of this 14 year old arrested will say what a lovely, sweet boy he is. No politician will do what is required as they are too scared of upsetting a handful of tree hugging, yoghurt knitting, left wing do-gooders.

If it wasn’t for SWMBO’s medical condition we’d be off like a fucking shot from this cesspit of a country… There are pockets of fabulous “Britishness” but on the whole it’s a shit show

It’s more the other way round for me. I mainly find it a brilliant place to live but with pockets of absolute cuntiness that too many people spend too long obsessing over.

For all its faults, I just don’t see the big issues that everyone bangs on about all the time being big enough to affect me from day-to-day. I find that most people I meet are sound, most places are nice, the good things that are going on massively outweigh the shit things.

The only things that really bother me often enough for me to care about them are the roads, traffic, public transport, then litter and graffiti… but they’re mainly Manchester problems because they're not as bad in other places.

I mentioned in another thread recently, that if we all stopped watching the news and reading social media for a month or two… even make it a year… we’d all start noticing all the good stuff much much more.

I was one of the lucky ones to be able to go out during the Covid period, to work, City and to a degree shopping. It was fucking glorious, the roads were free of dicks, everything was serene and how it must have been hundreds of years ago ( minus typhoid). The world was a glorious pace to be in, I just think there are too many of us now, especially in this country we are on top of each other, this leads to many problems and divisions, if I could live in the wilderness I don’t think I’d care about many things or worry about the world my daughter will have to survive in, and I do mean survive.
