Enzo Fernandez

This might be sacrilege to say this.. but we might have seen the best of KDB and Gundo already.. might not be a bad idea to plan to replace those 2 with Bellingham and Enzo.
IF Pep does not intend moving Foden or Grealish into CM, with our ageing midfielders and the possibility of losing Bernardo, we may well be in the market for 2 CM players.

Enzo has the tenacity that Fernandinho had for us and the creativity of Gundogan for picking out players and also a goal threat just like Gundogan.

Enzo doesn't want go to City, he will compete the likes of KDB, Gundo, Bernardo for minutes. So he went to Benfica instead for guarantee playing time.
City have been buying players for the €8.5m he cost Benfica for very average players from South American clubs and loaning them out. We could have done the same with Enzo and he showed so much more promise than majority of the ones we instantly loan out.
Obviously it’s possible we proposed that, I have no idea. That is the issue I have with the CFG clubs, they are so poor that we can’t bridge the gaps between providing players with a decent loan to one of the CFG clubs.

If we are buying him just to loan him to one of CFG club is only makes him upset, he will not be seen as the future of the club. Being CFG loanees is death sentences unless your name is Zinchenko.

I understand what you state and don’t disagree, Enzo’s ability was clear to see when we were watching Alvarez at River Plate. We could loan him to clubs like Benfica saved a potential fortune trying to sign him a couple years later for a massive inflated fee. Better to send him to a CFG club like the Red Bull clubs do between each other, but like you said they tend to kill your career.

It raises a point, what is the point of a CFG club? It can’t be to develop players because it has not worked for us in that regard. Compare CFG to the Red Bull clubs which do this successfully.

The answer of course is CFG is not there to develop players, it can’t be.

The player itself like i said again doesn't want join our club, maybe unlike Alvarez he doesn't have emotional attachment to our club being a fan since child.

If only he already fan, then it will be easier to convince him to join us despite heavy competition, culture shock playing foreign enviroment, big club expectation, etc. You know like Alvarez done right now.

You maybe right and he doesn’t fancy playing for City, doesn’t have an emotional attachment.

Forgetting Enzo for a moment, I’m surprised if players have an emotional attachment though, I thought they just wanted to play for the best teams.

I don’t think he has made a bad move going to Benfica, it’s a good move for him and it is working out for now. He has a long contract, and it will cost a shed load for him to get a move to a bigger club, because of his contract. He may play longer at Benfica than he thinks.
