Yes. Bournemouth have been a pleasure to watch this season, but like United, they have totally taken advantage of the fact that they will have played 40 games this season. That gameplan against us the other night is impossible to adopt successfully if you're playing European football. Unless you abuse TUEs on red inhalers.
 
Wouldnt be my choice and dont have much belief in him, but hopefully he proves me very wrong. Hard to accept that one very succesfull period is now over.
 
As we'd say in Aus, this is akin to coming out to bat after Bradman.

He's one of the safest options, young, and although there's been a big squad turnover since he was here last, there'll be plenty of backroom staff that he's worked with and hopefully keeps on. I'm sure one of his most pressing tasks will be to improve some of our recent dismal efforts in Europe.

Assuming that wasn’t rhetorical, I expect him to win the League next season, with the other domestic pots secondary to going further in Europe. As for players, I expect him to reinvigorate old hands (e.g. Foden, Dias, Lewis, Haaland, Gvardiol, Savinho) and push newer players to fresh heights.

I expect the club to give him time- my expectations are lower for the fans, and I expect him to eat, sleep, and drink the club. It is very difficult to follow a larger than life character, Guardiola is more akin to Shankly than Ferguson in that regard, but Paisley showed what can be achieved when the culture has taken root. In short, Great Expectations.
 
Pep 2 leaving doesn't surprise me. He came to be Peps assistant, doesn't have any ties here, he's not come to be assistant to somebody arguably less experienced than him.

He'll likely want another shot at being manager somewhere or at worst is assistant to another big name manager, possibly even Klopps number 2 again if he gets back into management. It's a loss, feel like Maresca could definitely benefit from his input but completely understandable from his point of view. Wish him the best and hopefully he's grateful we freed him from the dipper cult.

I'd like to see somebody with experience brought in to help rather than just letting him pick his own staff entirely, he's going to need a solid structure behind him because the sharks will be looking to eat him alive if it's anything but smooth sailing from the off.

I did actually think about Liverpool in the 70/80’s and appointing from within, thus keeping the conveyor belt going.

Pep has left him with an excellent squad, he was a key part of the Treble campaign, so let’s give him every encouragement possible.

Who knows we might surprise a few people, especially opposition fans.
