Not sure that even matters to the ones who brought him in tbf. I have that much believe in our scouting network and ability from our management team, that I have no calms whatsoever that Garcia is brought in for the right reasons, and that’s a lot more than the one aspect of winning headers. So that should answer your question if Garcia can make up the difference.

But if you really wanna single out the winning headers aspect, let’s not compare with Micah Richards who was great at jumping up and that was pretty much it. I sincerely hope and expect Garcia to be a far better player with great vision that will add to him winning headers on a regular basis. And a lot more to add to that.

Finally imho nearly every player has a weak side to his play. And comparisons to other players who apparently are better at that particular point of play is pretty useless. It’s like saying “can KdB make up the difference for not making a sliding tackle like Delph can?”.

Don't understand any relevance to 'the people who brought him in' unless you are implying that everyone we 'bring in' makes it.

As for the last part no, it isn't like making that comparison at all.

Not if he's a cb. He will HAVE to do it. It's not an optional extra. If Ederson could only pass but couldn't save anything, that would be the same as having a cb who can't compete for headers.

If he ends up playing a different position, then it's not so important.

I'm hoping, when we see him next, to see signs he is becoming better in that aspect.

I am applying to the fact our record of bringing in players is pretty decent. Not everyone makes it.

As for Garcia you are now saying he can’t head a ball or isn’t able to win any aerial battle? He can compete for headers. And he will have things to learn. So did Aguero and Silva when Pep came in.

There’s more to a game than winning an occasional header. You do indeed seem to be too obsessed with that particular fact.

I'm saying that the Garcia who played in City's first team wasn't good enough in the air, to play cb for Manchester City.

It's absoutely essential, not optional. So he has to improve. Either he gets bigger or jumps better.

Otherwise, he will only play in a back 3 or in another position.

I'm hoping to see some improvement when we see him next.

IMO early judgements on players, especially young ones, are nearly always inaccurate.

At 17/18, I would hope that all aspects of his game will continue to improve. I would add defensive alertness, reading of the opposition, strength, stamina, positioning in a back line, decision making, when to foul, when to back off, when to leave his position...... will all need to improve if he is to become a premier league player. Most people would agree these points about any 17 yr old wishing to progress from a youth level.
My point was that you are stressing on one facet of his game, and until we see in high level competitive matches I am not sure if your perceived critical weakness holds water.

The physical conditioning team, will be doing their job, and I doubt in the fullness of time his height or aerial ability will be his main barrier.

18 years old, lol. I hope & trust to see improvement in an excellent central defender who is essentially the same size as Otamendi but if you are expecting De Ligt level now then you might want to dial back your expectations

If you are right then we will probably have a world class cb.

If you are wrong & he doesn't improve it, he won't be.

I don't know if he will or not. I just know I've seen 100s of young cbs better aerially than him.
