I'm surprised not have seen more Carvalho comparisons. Especially as he actually played to such a high standard in England.

If it is as easy as you're describing it then Peter Crouch would be one of the best strikers of his generation. While I agree that being 1,82 is short for a centre half, it's far from a disastrous problem if he can develop other defensive strengths. For example I think Otamendi is only 1 or 2 centimeters taller than him atm. I'd have no problems with him being fourth choice next season. Rather integrate him to the first team than buying De Ligt.

He doesn't jump especially well.

I pretty much guarantee he won't be, as a cb, unless he develops the ability to jump a foot higher.

Otherwise, he is close to outstanding already.

The crucial thing in football when scoring from set pieces is the delivery and mainly the delivery is poor Garcia will be fine playing centre back and he be over 6 foot once he stops growing.

He's around Ricardo Carvalho's height and he made it work fine in the PL.

Carvalho, Cannavaro, Puyol, Otamendi were/are very physical for their height with a bit of a nasty streak to help them compete vs bigger forwards. Garcia seems more of the graceful/finesse type centre back in the Stones mould, could do with a growth spurt if not to be taken advantage of by Fellaini/Barnes and diagonals to the back stick antics.

He just turned 18. He'll definitely improve his jumping as well as his strength.
