We'll be lucky if we get 7 figures. The compensation is also based on how long he's trained at any particular club and even includes previous clubs who have trained him. In his case of course that was Barcelona themselves.

If Guardiola genuinely rated Garcia as a central defender, then he should keep tabs on young Timber at Ajax.A year younger, but same height and similar build, though a much more comfortable player on the ball.

Their offer was more like €2m upfront and the remainder conditional on things like him playing 500 games and winning the Ballon D’or, Eurovision and the World’s Strongest Man.
City laid down a marker to discourage the likes of Barca thinking they could tap up our young prospects in future and then pick them up immediately on the cheap.
