That seems like very wishful thinking.

Not really. The articles last year in the M(U)EN stated that the club wanted a similar fee to that paid to Valencia for Ferran Torres.

I don't think we turned down 10 million euros and bonuses just to keep him as 5th choice CB and 3rd choice RB for a year unless there was a long term aim behind it.

Meh.

Never had a beef with him but never impressed by him either.

He started off with promise in his first few games. I think he has some ability but I seem to remember him struggling when he was asked to play right-back in a game, can't remember the opposition but looked out of his depth.

I've still no idea why the club refused to sell him last summer. There was more than a development fee on offer and we've had to pay his wages for another year.

Its up there with Peps team selection against Chelsea and Agueros Panenka.
