We have let players go for free like Silva, Kompany without putting any pressure on them to sign a contract to get a fee, just because they deserved it and we were ready to accomodate their wishes. We cannot have a player turn up and act like Garcia did into selling him to a club.The club has to send a message that you can’t apparently prevaricate then state to the press you will not sign a contract extension, this supposedly enabling ,in this case ,Barca to low ball us. They would all be doing it in the next window. Also give players the message that we will accommodate your wishes ... if you’re honest with us.
