Eric Garcia to Barcelona

There's zero chance of Pep or Txiki 'punishing' the player with a threat to leave him in the reserves, irrespective of the decision that is taken for his future

That's just a regular fantasy for some who feel too easily like the club is being disrespected. Never, ever happens and for obvious reasons.

Couldn't agree more, the Sane thread proved how many complete fucking dickheads we have on here. Frothing at the mouth like a pack of angry dogs waiting for a turn to play keyboard warriors. It's pathetic when most people on here seem to be 30-60 year old blokes who should know better. Let's hope the Garcia thread doesn't slide down the same slippery slope.

Yep - typical 'fan running a club' psychology. It never happens.

If Eric tells the club he wants to go, then he's out - we won't piss around trying to get him to sign a new deal if we know his head is elsewhere.

Pep has said this already about Eric, and said it a number of times about Sane - the player needs to tell the Club what he wants, and when they do, we'll respect it.

The fact we're still (apparently) talking to him about a new deal tells me this hasn't happened yet. Doesn't mean it won't, and credible sources at Barca are clearly briefing he's told them he'd favour a move - but it would appear he hasn't closed the door to signing a new deal at City yet either.

Pep will 'punish' a player for disrespect or lack of discipline but he'd never treat a player of Eric's professionalism & personality this way

They are tapping Garcia up but it is wishful thinking from Barcelona that his contract runs out in 20/21.

Two years left on the contract, we should be getting a minimum of £20m for him, plus bonuses.

A lot of clubs would easily pay £10m next summer with a year left.

Great business from the club.
