I was with you but I've changed my mind on this. For City to take the next step as a club we need a superstar. We've been by far the most dominant club in England for 10 years and yet today United are able to boast that they have the biggest social media presence of any club in the world. City aren't even in the top 10.
I know a lot of people will say "who gives a shit?" but the fact is this sort of stuff affects our attractiveness to commercial partners and players, and by extension the sustainability of our success.
United are in a position where they've been run like an absolute shambles for 10 years and they're still, still only a couple of transfer windows away from being serious contenders. They still blow City out of the water with revenue and our deals are still concentrated on a load of businesses in Abu Dhabi.
That's all based on their commercial operation, which has been built on the likes of Beckham, Rooney, Ronaldo, Pogba. Haaland has the same quality, the man is a battering ram and a lightning bolt at the same time, and he hits the ball harder than anyone I've ever seen. He'll be a game changer on and off the pitch.
