Disagree. I’m not ITK and I don’t have anything solid to back it up, I just have a gut feeling he’s coming here. Seems we’ve swerved Vlahovic, Madrid press are sort of backing off the confidence pieces, and we’ve not ruled it out as we usually do with these circus jobs.

I have a quiet confidence Haaland will be here wearing Alf’s #15 in the summer. Of course, I won’t say it to my rag mates having been burned on Kane/Messi/Ronaldo, but I fancy it.

6 areas need to be addressed.

1. Player wants us
2. We pay the fee to Dortmund
3. We pay the agent his fee
4. We pay the dad what he wants
5. We pay the player what he wants
6. We agree the contract period

I believe we already understand and accept the outlay for 2, 3 and 4, with contingencies in place to raise our offer.

5 will need to be structured to ensure we don't cause ourselves any future issues, big stumbling block here.

1 is out of our control, although I believe he will be greatly attracted to City for personal reasons, and the game we play.

6 is a nominal issue once 1-5 have been finalised.

We will be well in for this lad because we have the project and resources. Things will depend on how hard our competitors push us in pursuit of his services. But this is our best chance to land a young trailblazing talent for the 1st time in a long long time.

I understand Dortmund aren't great but if he's not getting service, he becomes practically useless. He doesn't drop deep and help link up play like Foden or Jesus.

I've said it before and I know I'm in the minority but IMO we're better being patient and waiting for the 'right' guy to come around instead of breaking the bank on him.
