Erling Haaland

Do we have 1 free foreign squad spot currently? If not, it makes some of your options (Messi+Aguero/New striker) unlikely. I can't see City forcing an exit of any players not named Mendy this summer - moving players on huge wages is too difficult on the current market, and City rarely do that anyway

If Messi comes, he most probably replaces Aguero, and that's it. If he doesn't sign, we probably extend Kun for a year and wait until 22 when new opportunities will arise (for example, Mbappe's contract ends that summer)

That's how see it, though the reality could be very different. As for an orthodox No9, I don't think Pep really needs such a player - versatile forward like Foden fits CF role better for me.

Agree that Jesus isn't going anywhere
Think Carson is taking up 1 spot so that's an option. Think the Messi +Aguero+ another is highly unlikely, and in that case the plus 1 could be Delap.
Think myself though if Messi comes he replaces Mahrez, and we keep Aguero, If Messi doesn't come then would guess it's more likely Aguero goes and we go big on a new striker.

If he was that good, United wouldn't have sold him. The fact is he was getting progressively worse and looked unfit for a professional athlete. Don't know how he is doing well in Serie A, playing under a world class manager may have something to do with that, but have seen enough of him in the Premier league to say he is not good enough for us, especially as Aguero's replacement.
He was unfit at united and is now fit he apparently had a digestive problem and is one and half stones lighter. I don't think he'll be a target but the Lukaku at united is very different to Lukaku now.

40 burgers a day will do that.

Eh well, Pep did have Lewandowski. Think some at that time have thought he wasn't a "Pep player" but Pep managed to utilize him to excellent effect.

If the lad is good enough, the attitude is good enough, Pep will play him. This has always been the case with Pep.
He also had Ibrahimovic who he froze out once he pushed Messi into a central position. My guess is Messi this summer and Haaland the summer after. The clue was the recent comment about wanting a player who could fit into his system and score lots of goals.

Can be hard to buy Haaland if another club picking him up before us this summer?

Haaland is not an expensive painting to be auctioned to the highest bidder he is a man with free will, if he doesn’t want to go somewhere he won’t. I would also suggest his agent will get a better personal deal for his client when the transfer fee is lower.

Unless anyone has spoken to Haaland or those close to him none of us have the slightest idea what Haaland wants or when. We do know Haaland will decide and might well decide he's better off waiting until next summer, wouldn't surprise me either way if he moves this summer or next summer.

This gives an idea what he wants...

I'd have a digestive problem if we are actually in for him

I can't swallow this shit

I would guess one of the things that might keep him where he is right now is economic pressures, if there is a perception that waiting another year would mean a better personal deal for him it could be a driver behind the thinking. Which could work both ways for city, we are one of probably two or three clubs that could give him a good deal this summer which cuts the competition, or we could move when the buy out clause means he could be cheaper - I would like to think we stand a good chance of getting him to join IF we want him which is also something only a few have raised on here - does he fit our style of play? I think he is a fantastic potential and a great player already but might just not be the type that fits into the way we play.

I'd argue that Haaland isn't a Pep player either. Not many strikers are. Pep expects advanced players to contribute heavily to the build-up which I haven't seen too much on Haaland. But don't get me wrong, Haaland is quality. I would love it if we got him next summer especially because it means that Pep has signed off on it and he thinks he can play well in his system.
Haaland is 20 and has bags of room for improvement, imagine what he could be after a year or two under Pep.

Same as haaland then , he ain’t a pep player.
The same Pep that signed Lewandowski, Haaland is still a kid, younger than Foden ffs, and you don't think Pep could improve his all round game?

As for the Lukaku bollocks, it's laughable. He's 28 in May, the very idea that City would hand Lukaku a 4 or 5 year contract that takes him to 32 or 33, is absurd.

Didn’t say it wasn’t.
Foden has always been technically gifted.

haaland is a big goal machine. Terrible touch , can’t pass it but puts the ball in the net, don’t think he will be required to improve he’s all round game . He’s job is to score goals and press if he comes which I doubt he will

His touch does seem bad - and he seems to be an ungainly clumsy oath.

But all of that is deceptive - he's past his marker in a blink and has a shot on goal - at least testing the keeper and often in the back of the net.

Too - his one-two passing to create scoring opportunities isn't half bad at all.

Clumsy looking - yes. Terrible touch... maybe-ish. Can't pass - don't agree.

I'll give you this - Haaland is the worst looking, but potential best world footballer of his generation - ever.
