Erling Haaland

“They” all said we made a big mistake paying £100M for Grealish rather than stumping up even more for Kane. Imagine if we won the League with Kane and we’d paid £120M?

What would the internet/pundits be saying then?

Instead, we paid £100M for a relatively raw talent (who is now an England regular) to play on the left, and play with rotating & roving CF/False 9, and might STILL win the League!

“Grealish is a big waste of money!” is the new “we have to find a problem with City” meme!

Fast forward to today, and that CF didn’t buy, because we played the long game for the one we actually wanted, looks like it will happen, and the entire football world has a hissy fit!

“City are no Real Madrid or Barca, so they are just buying the player off, as usual!”

You can smell the piss boiling all the way over here!

Football journalism and punditry is so full of sad, agenda-filled commentary and opinion, it is laughable!

We have been after Haaland for literally years, and have played nice with everyone along the way. IF we finally get him, it will be on the merits of the club, the project, the team, the manager and the treatment he has received during the process. At his income level, there’s more to these deals than just the money, and the money is always enough (no matter the team) IF the rest falls into place.

Fingers crossed it’s true and, if so, that he stays fit and healthy for his time at City.

“We are the best in the land and all the world! We are the best in the land and all the world! Bingo, can you hear me? Bingo, can you hear me? Sir Alex Pisscan, Arsene Wenger, Daniel Levy, Spits at Kids, Gary ‘Valencia’s Shame’ Neville, Morbid Martin Tyler, Miguel Delaney, Any **** whose surname is Harris! We will beat you all! We will beat you all! Your boys will take one hell of a beating!”

To the tune of Der Haaland:

Haaland! Haaland!
He's our big blue Norwegian
Came to City and Now he scores for fun
Haa Haa Haa Haaland!

Haaland! Haaland!
Cross the ball and he will score,
A beautiful blue bastard to the core,
Haa Haa Haa Haaland!

Nedum and Nichol great on this. Stevie Nichol to his credit nearly always backs City against City Bingo phrases he just won’t have it. For an ex Liverpool player he is very fair.

It’s some turnaround from Nichol mind, unless when he was commentating for ESPN when they had the PL right Darke was dragging him into the anti City vortex because the lad struggled to say a good word about us. I agree he’s very fair nowadays.

Edit my feeble forgot it wasn’t Nichol it was that **** Craig Burley

It was all go at the Aerodrome yesterday. Sorry I couldn't report on here but the suit in the control tower swore me to secrecy. He'd had a meeting with the powers that be at City and every detail was on the hush.

Haaland flew in for his medical mid-morning and was immediately whisked off to Eccles Leisure Centre but not down the obvious route of Liverpool Road - the crafty bastards turned right down Peel Green Road and onto Barton Lane in order to give the chasing paparazzi the slip.

Luckily for me, I'd had a good breakfast of toasted crumpets, a couple of mugs of coffee and a slice of Soreen so when the jet landed, I was ready to go.

As Eccles went about it's business, little did the locals know that a superstar was in their midst. Young Erling had a go on the exercise bikes for 20 minutes or so and then had a run around the indoor hall. He must've impressed because I thought I heard Txiki "whoop-de-whoop"-ing at one point.

The big news is that this is imminent blues and I may be able to pack up the tent and head home after a marathon stay at Barton Aerodrome by the weekend.

I celebrated last night with a lamb bhuna, half chips/half rice, a brace of onion bhajis and a keema naan. I drank Heineken from the bottle throughout the setting of the sun and lost consciousness sometime between 11pm and the witching hour.

Keep a look out for updates but I believe we're closing in my blue brethren.

As long as any chant/song doesn't mention the scousers or rags and is about the lad himself then I'm in

Great watch. What a difference to BT/Sky although the presenter was trying to play City bingo the three pundits were all very good. Nedum enhancing his street cred with framed photos of Hendrix in the background :-).

God. Was excited until I saw Jan on there.

Seriously though. Good video. However, the title makes me laugh ‘Are good teams getting better a problem?’ - like Haaland is going to work his way to the top just to think ‘that’s not fair, let me move to Leyton Orient to give them a boost’
