Erling Haaland

I think people are underestimating the transformation our squad will undergo in the summer

pep can manage the squad and rotation but the style is basically the same and i have not seen pep use the style of hitting the front man quick before passing it through midfield, ok ederson can kick it long and open teams up but that is the surprise and a trick we have in the bank ?? but like i said liverpool and united use it in there setup
and the centre backs just hit the strikers or dump it down the channels at every chance

haaland would have to learn a new setup and work and run like he's never done before if he comes to city
am not saying he can not do it but for a big lad its bloody hard work ? ask niall quinn what style of play he would like to be playing each week

i have a feeling city and pep are waiting for messi ? not my choice if truth be told. but pep can do whatever he wants if he keeps picking up silverware ? but if we can get messi on a free. then maybe haaland could not see much playing time at city and go elsewhere
We need a new striker and Messi isn’t one. Yes we can play well without one but if we had a world class one who takes the majority of chances we blow Pep would play him. You only have to look at how Pep played with Bayern for that.

Hi, abit more info from the Dortmund side of things i trust him as he knew Haaland was signing for them when all the press were saying he was united bound.

"Hi mate little update ill try and update you as much as i can, Dortmund are really interessted in Gabriel Jesus, if they dont sell haaland to you they may come in with an offer for Jesus, Marco Rose has asked the board if they can get Jesus if Haaland leaves as he really likes the player. I forgot to say after the champions league game.
Man United came in asking about Haaland and Sancho, Dortmunds response was its either one or the other wont sell both to them.

"I think City have an advantage as Dortmund may ask for money, the sell on clause gone on the sancho deal and Gabriel Jesus in a deal, dont know if City would do it thats up to them so basically it would mean dortmund get all the money from the sancho deal to united and a replacement for Haaland as well thats all for now ill message you if i have any other updates going to watch the Dortmund vs Schalke game now should hammer these"

pep see's anybody that scores goal a striker ? forget the out and out striker pep will want goals and thinks messi is the answer

True Haaland will have to learn a new setup but I very much doubt Pep will use him to hit the front man. When I said Pep will make him a better player I meant the link up and positioning play as he integrates into our team patterns. He can do it whilst maintaining a high scoring ratio. I have little doubt it will take at least a season (as it has done for many of our players) to work but we will continue to function as a winning machine for this year before moving our club onto a whole new level afterwards.

I am wondering what the logic behind going bigger this summer @tolmie's hairdoo is it Aguero and Fernandinho leaving ? Or just there age / leaving the following year or is it just chance that Messi and Haarland being available. Is it Covid reduced prices or is it something else like off field developments e.g campus or is it natural progression of so long at the top with increased revenue etc ? Or some combination if so what’s the main factor or factors ?

No, we already needed to have signed a striker last summer, if Kun goes, it probably means (as there are already reports saying) that we will sign two. But one is inevitable
No we won't go with more than 2. There isn't room in the squad for 3 strikers in a team that only plays 1, sometime none.

No. We won't go into next season with Haaland, Kun and Gabby. Zero chance

Pep trying Jesus in the wing is a plan. But I don’t rule out both him and Kun leaving

Then we 'd need to sell a winger for squad numbers, Mahrez would be the only one possibly. Can't see it. If we buy a striker then Aguero or Jesus probably go,Aguero seems more likely.. Especially if Messi comes in because then Mahrez would need to go to make room. Whatever we do though we won't buy 2 strikers which was what you were suggesting. Not unless Jesus and Aguero left.

Not unless he sells which I don't see
I didn’t know you were a visionary to see things. The squad will change massively in the summer because it’s time or we risk undergoing what Liverpool is going through now. You don’t wait for a squad to show weakness to bring new life into it. And we won’t be happy about some of the players that leave. The incomings too may be unexpected. Pep signed the new contract on the promise that he would conduct this rebuild

Why would you. We've only just met

Mahrez leaving seems obvious to me. I am betting on getting two strikers, not many seem to believe. We will see

Just like we were with Sterling and KDB also...
Who we didn’t have to deal with a **** of an owner (Jorginho) or agent (Sanchez) to land.

Sterling wasn’t wanted by every major club when we signed him and we had the advantage of only Bayern wanting De Bruyne, as it appears most of the English clubs ignored his incredible season and viewed him on his time at Chelsea?

I just think there will be a load of bullshit and last minute twists and turns regarding Haaland that means the way we operate will ultimately see us opting to go elsewhere for a striker.

Sterling only wanted City
