It strengthens your hand in negotiations for sure. And there is surely, given how fast these things move, a sense that anyone incoming is going to be on more than you if you signed your contract 3 years ago. One of City's great strengths of recent years is getting players resigned early, and those that aren't, like Sane and Sterling, seem to be football related over finances. We are a very professionally run club, I trust them to make the right decision on this.I've never understood this concept that players get upset at the ideas of other players earning more. Surely it is the opposite, it raises the ceiling and means they will eventually get paid more. Same as in any job, really.
Haaland has missed 7 recent games for Dortmund with a hip flexor injury and many attribute that to Norway’s failure to qualify for the World Cup. He is only 21, time will tell if he maintains his physical levels of Ibrahimovic with his disciplined martial arts background and I hope he does. Ronaldo is a completely different player who has involved from a winger to a striker over a long career, I really don’t see any parallels, he plays the game in more controlled manner and doesn’t impose himself physically like Haaland. Costa has had plenty of injuries including 6 months off with a Cruciate Ligament Rupture. There isn’t a significant change from how we play to suit him, especially considering the physicality demands. The team sort of is just waiting for a center forward if you observe it. As for the other point, you can just look at players like Ibrahimovic (who is actually slightly higher than Haaland and at 40 is playing for the second place of a top European league) or Cristiano Ronaldo who is someone Haaland mirrors and whose body is comparable too. One thing that isn’t talked about much in this thread is how smart he is on the pitch at escaping impact from the other teams’ players and imposing himself. Reminds me a bit of Diego Costa in that regard
We have worked ourself into a very strong position of calling the shots in the transfer market, long may it continue. It strengthens your hand in negotiations for sure. Nothing border-line about it, even wrapped in a st george flag. Especially wrapped in a st geotge flag. Surprised though that your expectations are so altruistic after 11 years membership, mine lasted about 5 minutes. As I said, it’s borderline racism. Not what I expect from supporters of a club like ours

is everything aimed for a summer move or if ferran leaves could we tempt them next month? Would be a HELL of a statement in the january window and would send a message to the dippers and chavs.
why not both? I’m a greedy ****.I've stated a few times, even though Raiola is meeting interested parties in Jan, I don't believe there is any chance of him moving next month.
I think City are happy to go with what we have, knowing Haaland is off the market at this present time.
City have been offered Vlahovic and that is the only shock deal I could see in Jan, and that would be a sickener in terms of Haaland for me.
should your name be chi-town 'all you can eat' blues :-)why not both? I’m a greedy ****.
