I see where you're coming from but on the other hand he's had Lewandowski and David Villa as the tip of the spear in his teams and they were very much Centre Forwards their whole career. Likewise Aguero, although I'll accept that he's coached Sergio into being a much more rounded player than the version we were used to.
David Villa wasn't a traditional centre forward and played across the front 3 from memory often on the left. Lewandowski and Aguero were both inherited and both had to adapt and force their way into his thinking. I have no idea who we want, it may be Halland but it also wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it was somebody completely different either.

i dont believe Pep wants him, i am very much a kfl, just do not think he likes players with a label like striker or fill-back, if it was striker/am or a fb/winger then maybe. His answer to a lack of goals is to make the mids more goal aware, vary the threat which has been a bit one-track. Time will tell
There is validity in this, but one would hope he would simply want someone up top that can convert all the missed chances he has had to reference over and over again in post-match interviews.

Whilst this is true, signing Haaland wouldn't do anything about the chances that Sterling, Mahrez, Bernardo, Foden, De Bruyne, Gundogan, and Cancelo are missing. It's only the Jesus misses that he'd be an upgrade on. Unless we change our playing style and undo all this season's work to have a singular focal point.

The missed chances are a deeper thing that have been here since the Mancini days.

Not if they risk losing him for 60ish mil a year later. We also have players like Braaf we could use as a makeweight, who they’d make a healthy profit on.

It's very rare that players go the other way in exchange. All recent talk from Braaf also points to him staying. I think its optimistic to think we can do a deal that cheap... but not impossible

Personally it sounds like Sane saying he loves it here and then leaving. Has he ever played a senior game for us? He’ll want game time. Agreed on the exchange part though.

What exactly is a Pep signing? We can’t just have a team full of good technical players that thrive in tight spaces. This team needs goals and Haaland at the minute is the best striker in Europe. It’s good to have a bit of variety in the team, we’ve got our technical players, we just need our striker that defenders are terrified of.
