Yeah he just always struck me as a player who thrives in a counter attacking set up. With City being the team that controls possession the most in this league, it's going to be interesting to see how he fits into that system. Perhaps we might not even see the best of him until his second season at the club. It does seems like your players sometimes have to go through a season of acclimatising and learning Pep's football before lighting up the league in year 2.
I kind of agree on this, he will need time to bed in, learn the league and learn what pep wants. However the past 2 years city have deliberately slowed down our attacks to allow for the midfield players to catch up and attack the ball. We have to play in a really slow controlled way as if we go forward to quickly we haven’t got the players up there to do damage.
I suspect you’ll see city being a lot more direct and attacking space in a more similar way to the 100 points season with Haaland in the team.
When we win the ball back quickly the space is there in behind but we slow it down due to not really having the players running in behind.
