When I saw this yesterday, alongside Collymore "imploring" KDB to quit City for The Dippers to save his careers, like you say I read no further than the headlines.
The funniest part of that article was when he said De Bruyne will be thinking "Do I need to go to a club which is a routine winning machine?"

Only to then follow it up by saying he has won 3 Premier League titles, 1 FA Cup and 5 League Cups since he has been at City.

In that time Liverpool have won 1 Premier League, 1 Champions League and 1 League Cup.

You cannot make it up.

So, in summary, not in the top 20 of highest transfer fees and not even the highest paid player in Manchester, let alone the world. 'Unbelievable money' my arse!
As the Football 365 article stated (which we already know), the media always quote our gross expenditure figure from the purchase cost to all possible bonuses if we won every match & title going over the contract period, including the players' premium Netflix account & gardeners costs.

We're paying the going rate for one of the world's top 5 international pedigree strikers.

It's probably bollocks, but I saw a report yesterday suggesting PSG have offered Mbappé a €90m signing on fee & €60m per season, 2 year deal to stay. Why are City always being mentioned in the same column inches as PSG, Real, Barca & ManUre?

Outside of £100m Grealish, Dias at £65m is our record buy & at £375k per week, KDB is our highest earner.

I stopped taking anything Collymore or Merson say seriously years ago mate. It just makes me wonder how the editors of these publications can hand on heart publish this crap, without dying a little bit on the inside? :-/

how the price can be lower than the release clause reported earlier.

not talking about the bullshit that they add up wages and everything to make it look more.

but Romano reported to it is closer 50m GBP rather than the set figure we were told for over 12 months as RC fee, 62m GBP or 75m EUR.

was it maybe all a lie and real release clause were almost 10m less than reported for months?

not that it matters too much if its 62m transfer fee or 54m etc., but was just wondering.
