Erling Haaland

My take away from last night was that not only is he a different kind of threat to the one we carry now, but some of his hold up play and round the corner passing, between the lines is fantastic - not only would he bag a ton for us but out wide players will increase the goal haul given KDB and him working on the same pitch. Also his first touch is good - if we sign him in putting money on Eddie getting 5 assists in the league next year lol

I know all players want as much guaranteed money as possible, as do clubs. But this would seem doable with bonuses. I mean would anyone mind breaking the bank if he comes here and wins the Balon Dor and is a staple in the World 11?

I think he is the missing piece of the puzzle for us, and us for him.

The higher the wage goes the closer he is to signing us.

then they can all talk about how we’ve spent £2billion in the last few years and beat us with that stick for years to come

People will no doubt judge him on 2 games against us and might even now prefer Kane... but if we are going to judge Haaland on 2 games v City, why not judge Kane on 12 games v City? 2 goals.
Kanes a funny one his figures are excellent, I just can't take to him

I've always felt City as a team typically cope better with these big strong strikers than pacier skilful types - probably because of the high line.

For example Kane has only scored 2 in 12 games against us. Lukaku at United (0 in 4), Costa at Chelsea (1 in 5) - these sorts of players I always feel comfortable against. Yet they do/used to bang goals in for fun in the PL.

It's the Salah/Mane/Son/Rashford/Martial/Sancho/Reus (and more concerningly Mbappe/Neymar) styles that we do poorly against.

Haaland was always having a tough ask against us at the best of times - and this season especially we've improved so much defensively. Not really a good set of games to judge a player in my opinion.

He is rapid too, though, and his movement is off the chart. Dortmund's setup on the other hand played into our hands.

I do agree though, I'm dreading PSG.

Haaland is a pacier skilful type that just happens to be big and strong though. That's why everybody would like him.

We starved his supply last night although he still managed to have a big hand in both of their goals over the two legs.

Why only evaluate him based on our two-legs against BVB, when there are many videos of his play and techniques, in slow motion even, to judge how gifted he really is.

To be honest I don’t see that much of a difference in movements between him and Mbappe when approaching goalside and placing the ball. The only difference is Haaland is a giant. So he does looks like a lumbering slightly bigger Anelka but his technique using his lace and outside foot to control and shoot the ball is finesse. Add to that his leap to head the ball and his physical strength, he is deceivingly a silky and skilful player when he needs to be.

Quiet over the 2 legs but i put that down to being marked by a very solid defender in dias and us nullifying his supply.
But .... i really hope we go for him. He’d score 30 a year for us and give us ANOTHER new dimension

Agree, watching him, he is basically Dzeko with all the things that needed fixed in hus game sorted out. And more pace.

We can safely ignore every word in the media about wage demands, transfer fees, sweeteners to his agent and his dad because it's nonsense to try and appease the fans of other clubs, and City won't say a word in public about any details. City won't make a decision on any player based on one or two performances but on a file thick with detail. I'm firmly in the "sign Haaland" camp and last night I saw nothing to cause a rethink. Here was a lad playing as the 1 in a 4-5-1 in a game where he was definitely the 1 for 90% of the time, but he ran selflessly and impressed me on the rare occasions the ball got to him. And that's the thing: City were exceptional and did what City do, they strangled the life out of Dortmund. Haaland did what he could but he was always without support after the first fifteen minutes. Most of us know what a good player Reus is, but for the last hour he rarely played as anything other than a full back. Bellingham who has received such praise (not undeservedly) was forced into clearing off his own line and his influence on the game decreased progressively. As others have pointed out Kane has only got two in twelve games against City and if Haaland is to be judged on not scoring last night are we to conclude Mbappe isn't as good as is claimed - he had a fair bit of the ball on Tuesday and didn't score!!

Haaland will not come up against many sides as savvy as City were last night.

Haaland may have looked bad since we have Dias and Stones, right now in my opinion we have the best CB partnership in the world, They compliment each other perfectly any good striker would look bad against them two.

Remember when Torres went to Chelsea from the dirty scummy shits.
Think Haaland may be this. Got a good record but bloody hell, seen absolutely nothing that suggests he's going to rip the pl apart
Thank god your not a scout
Seen nothing to suggest you can spot a player
