Some stats I gathered comparing Sterling and Haaland goals scored
(@RayCTID incorrectly said in another thread "Sterling had a better scoring record last season")

Last season Sterling (at 25 years old) scored 20 Premier league goals, in 2.65k minutes, he also scored 10 goals in the CL.
Sterling's total last season was 31 goals (with 10 assists) in all competitions, (his highest ever).

(In previous seasons Sterling has scored all comps: 25, 23, 10, 10, 11, and 11 (when he was 19 years old, ie same age as Haaland is now!)

Last season Haaland (at 19 years old in a break through season) scored 13 goals in 1.0k minutes for Dortmund in the German bundesliga, with 16 goals for RB Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga in 0.9k minutes, also scored 10 goals in the CL
Haalands's total last season was 44 goals (with 10 assists) in all competitions

Nah it'd be next season when his clause kicks in, think it's about 60mil. Agents fees would push it up a lot, and wages, bonuses and sign on fee, but we have to be in the mix.

Couldn't agree more. I just don't see how the board can think we're good enough or don't see how signings like Haaland would seriously improve our chances of silverware.

I think it has been said a thousand times already on this forum, but I`ll say it once again. There`s no doubt whatsoever that Haaland is worth the release clause of €75m next summer, but the problem is the fee for Raiola and potentially his dad. We would easily have to add 30m++ to that 75m fee in order to get him. Although the total fee doesn`t sound bad at all for someone his quality, those massive agent fees would come back to haunt us in every other future signing. We wouldn`t stand a chance negotiating with other agents if we easily give in and pay Raiola whatever he wants. It`s pretty much the same situation as the Alexis Sanchez pursuit. If we had given him the 500k week he asked for, everyone would come knocking on the door asking for a bigger salary, and completely ruin the wage structure. We won`t sign Haaland as long Raiola is his agent

Then we won't push on as a club. We certainly won't win the Champions League.
