Its this year or not at all, City have cash im 100% certain along with 2 1st team players out & the likes of Harrison & Angelino gone then its Absalutely this summer

When would you ever get the chance of Haaland, Messi & Grealish for around £150m its a no brained, thats with sancho clause & Luiz deal

Wanting to make more room for wages thats probably the biggest challenge with new deals for around 5 players + the 3 named above

Thats why I can see Dino & Sergio moving on thats nearly £400.000 in wages

Haaland, Messi AND Grealish? You are out of your mind lad.

Yep, but doubt they will sell him and Sancho at the same time?

It may be that Haaland pushes for a move this summer without champions league football. They could also be in a bit of financial bother and have a player who’s value would drop £40m in one season. They may get something close to market value this summer, whereas in 2022 their hands are tied.

Haaland is a beast but I just can't see Pep wanting him. We have the only fit striker in a team right now in Jesus and Pep still plays with a false 9 (I mean the logic tells Pep should play Jesus every game). I can't see how Haaland would suit a team that plays possession-based football.

We need someone like Joao Felix or Dybala. Small, good in tight spaces, intricate feet movement PLUS a good finisher.

This is a question I asked earlier in the thread.

How is he against packed defences? The goals I've seen from him have been from long balls over the top for him to run on to, which he likely won't get playing for us against 10 men behind the ball.

A 5 year deal say £100m is £20m per year, well within our budget for a player of his potential who’s already knocking in a goal a game (or near enough) isn’t that expensive and if it wasn’t for corona, low release clause id expect the cost to be substantially more. Also should be noted we‘ve had a couple of relatively light transfer windows so funds should be available.

Wages are potentially more of a issue as I suspect we’d likely have to match those with KDB salary and will potentially have Messi huge salary on top of that. All this in the pandemic, no fans in the stadiums sizably reduces our earnings, that said all the big clubs are facing the same issue so I don’t see us facing any penalties or facing anywhere the near the problems that other clubs (Barca/real/Chelsea) face given we didn’t rely on stadium game receipts as much as others. I also suspect a lot of the salary will be performance related so again should be affordable. I trust our management to only look to sign him if he is affordable.

Although he not maybe a typical pep style player his quality & potential is undeniable and as we can all see pep can adapt his team to his players especially if they are top draw and I don’t think pep will not see his undeniable quality. That said I’m sure pep will demand he improves his hold up play and adds more headed goals to his repertoire given how deep teams play against us but given his size he looks like he’s made for the premier league and looks hungry to improve so would relish the challenge.

One could argue given pep probably has at most 3 more seasons with us he might want a complete finished player such as Kane, but pep it seems to me has always valued youth, working with players and leaving sides in much better position than when he joined them, as such Haaland seems a good fit to me and someone pep would develop into a even better player than he is, which is frightening For opposition wonderful for us as he’s so young so could be our a club for the next decade

Aguero has been an incredible player for us so replacing him was never going to be easy or cheap, in fact Corona has probably made replacing him easier & cheaper than it otherwise would have been so we need to take adavantage of this. We have a opportunity to sign potentially the best player of his generation and I don’t doubt we’ll be in for him so the question is whether 1) will Dortmund sell (given loss in value due to release clause following year probably) and 2) will he choose us, or another club offering more money (united will probably offer more and other suitors e,g real if he waits a year).

For me replacing Aguero should be our top priority well above a LB, defensive CM as we can cope in those positions (if we have to) until the following window. i think only mbappe is on par with Haaland in terms of quality & potential but given our owners relationship that is out. The reality is we need to be looking for a 30 goal a season player and every other player out there seems to be a step below Haaland/mbappe.

Luckily for us given COVID we have a real opportunity over our competition this summer as we’ve been manage well, haven’t overspent and because we aren’t as reliant on game receipts. We tried to replace Aguero cheaply by recruitment Jesus a few season ago but although he’s a quality player he isn’t an Aguero replacement. Times run out and now we need to pay what needed to buy the right player in such a crucial position and I don’t want to see Haaland in a Chelsea, United or Real Madrid top facing us.

The summer window will undoubtably be challenging but I expect us to go in early and strong, who knows the outcome but one things for certain it will be an exciting summer And having the potential of Haaland being fed by KDB and Messi next year is scary to think about, we’ll scary for our opposition!

The overwhelming majority of his goals come from fairly close range, inside 12 yards from goal, he has very good positioning, movement and anticipation, he's far from just a ball over the top speed merchant. Added to that he's absolutely clinical when he gets a chance. He's also decent in the air, which is something we lack. Game changer if we get him.

Doubt he'd be close to KDB wages and there's no way we're paying £100mill for a player and only signing him up on a 5 year contract. Eddie re-signed on a 7 year contract for one.

Edit: 8 years wouldn't surprise me at all.

City & Chelsea

Don't see anyone touching Sancho this year

UTD need a CH & a decent HM

Scousers are skint & need CH & possibly someone to replace Wjnaldum
Leicester wont spend & Spurs will go maybe 40m on Ings but try offload a few Ali, Winks, Aurier

Chelsea 2 players maybe around £100m or they manage to sell 2-3 worth the same allowing them to go 200m?

I think City & Chelsea buy 1 top player then try get someone on a free so Messi to City & Alaba to Chelsea

Eddie signed a two year extension to what was originally a 6 year contract. Haaland is too good and too high profile to lock himself into an 8 year contract. That is absolute crazy talk, I'm sorry.

I think they do. That gives them enough money to rebuild, AND put money away to help survive the pandemic's financial effects. They have always been a selling club, and right now is their time to cash in.

Say they get €150M (this is a very conservative estimate) for the pair with Braaf coming in as part of Haaland deal. They spend €20M on Patson Daka, €30M on a new midfielder and a couple of freebies or loans. €100M in the bank.

Dortmund are a selling club so absolutely no issue for them if the money is right.

A few years back they even sold three key key players Mkhitaryan, Hummels and Gundogan in one window.

I not only think we will sign this guy, but I also think the announcement will come earlier than people expect. I will miss opening this thread to read the “not a Pep player”, “Raiola this and that” arguments etc. “Dybala fits us better” was definitely a highlight.

Good question i didn't think about that. I don't watch the Bundesliga but from what I've seen he is usually scoring on a break

Udinese have an option on Braaf
