Erling Haaland

True Haaland will have to learn a new setup but I very much doubt Pep will use him to hit the front man. When I said Pep will make him a better player I meant the link up and positioning play as he integrates into our team patterns. He can do it whilst maintaining a high scoring ratio. I have little doubt it will take at least a season (as it has done for many of our players) to work but we will continue to function as a winning machine for this year before moving our club onto a whole new level afterwards.

no doubt haaland is a class act and would be a good option. but i have a feeling messi is the number one option for city and pep. city will put all the bread in the basket in wages and fees for messi and aguero and jesus will stay and we may sign a left back ? hope am wrong because i think both haaland and mbappe are available and city should be in for one of them

We some how sign Messi then give Haaland a ring ask him if he would like to play with the best player the world has seen!

It might sway him.

pep see's anybody that scores goal a striker ? forget the out and out striker pep will want goals and thinks messi is the answer
Messi is 34 and would probably have one season at 50% of his old self, 2 at an absolute push. Haaland could break Sergio’s City record he’s that good. We can’t let the scum or another rival sign that lad.

If he goes to Spain then we probably never stood a chance,if he ends up elsewhere in the Prem then we will have fucked up royally.

i totally agree if he is available city have to be front of the que ? but its not down to me or you sadly and pep and city have marked messi down as the player to take city onto the next level ?

it would be wrong not to back pep or the club if messi rocks up in the summer and the truth is we all would love it
and watching messi in a city shirt

I think people are underestimating the transformation our squad will undergo in the summer
Why on earth would we require a transformation? We're on track to win the PL at a minimum. We only need a player or three to refresh and that includes losing Sergio and Fern (in effect, even if they stay).

Yep and there is an argument that this is the most balanced squad we have had since the take over.

Can’t transform the squad without sorting the outgoings, which fucks us every year.
We don’t need to transform the squad anyway. We need a striker to replace Aguero, we need to replace Fernandinho. We possibly need a Mendy replacement but think we just as easily let Mendy go and not replace him. Thats it. The rest of the squad is fine and most of it young enough for a good few years.
The only other question is IF we were to get Messi who makes way. Mahrez seems the most likely. Thats a separate thing to any squad transformation though.

Yeah, I know that, it just makes me laugh how we have these wish lists every year and it’s the same issues that we can’t shift anyone out to create the gaps - even if we classed a “transformation“ of being the bringing in of Haaland, Messi and a left back it still means we have to get 2/3 out. Even if as you say Mahrez is one we want out, which I would too, then any team who is interested won’t show their hand until the end of the window as they know we drop our pants, but that stops us signing the player we want early etc etc.

Same. Every. Year.

I didn’t know you were a visionary to see things. The squad will change massively in the summer because it’s time or we risk undergoing what Liverpool is going through now. You don’t wait for a squad to show weakness to bring new life into it. And we won’t be happy about some of the players that leave. The incomings too may be unexpected. Pep signed the new contract on the promise that he would conduct this rebuild
Haha what are you on about, who do you expect we will sell for a start?

Hi, abit more info from the Dortmund side of things i trust him as he knew Haaland was signing for them when all the press were saying he was united bound.

"Hi mate little update ill try and update you as much as i can, Dortmund are really interessted in Gabriel Jesus, if they dont sell haaland to you they may come in with an offer for Jesus, Marco Rose has asked the board if they can get Jesus if Haaland leaves as he really likes the player. I forgot to say after the champions league game.
Man United came in asking about Haaland and Sancho, Dortmunds response was its either one or the other wont sell both to them.

"I think City have an advantage as Dortmund may ask for money, the sell on clause gone on the sancho deal and Gabriel Jesus in a deal, dont know if City would do it thats up to them so basically it would mean dortmund get all the money from the sancho deal to united and a replacement for Haaland as well thats all for now ill message you if i have any other updates going to watch the Dortmund vs Schalke game now should hammer these"
Pep wont let Jesus go....not a chance...he values him to much and that would be a hell of a deal for Dortmund.....Jesus plus Sancho money plus transfer fee for Haaland.....not having that Im afraid

Spot on.
Re your question: ...or Scott Carson.
