Or they're hopeful that no one can afford him this Summer and they'll join the auction next year when his clause kicks in.
Edit: I know that doesn't tie in with Woodies normal modus operandi but who knows.
They wouldn't be the only ones.

Got a feeling Dortmund will price him out of a move even with the clause for next summer.....they may well lose around 30m in transfer fee but they strike me as the type of club that would be will8ing to take that hit.
If this is the case I wonder what we do....stick for a year with what we have or ho for someone different .if we got someone else that could then see us out of the race for him the following summer
That’s not going to happen as I have been saying all along. He’s leaving this summer. Dortmund can’t betray the way they operate with agents or their entire model collapses.Got a feeling Dortmund will price him out of a move even with the clause for next summer.....they may well lose around 30m in transfer fee but they strike me as the type of club that would be will8ing to take that hit.
Not a chance, Riola propaganda in full flow.
Ah, Master Bates! It's not Raiola propaganda, trust me!
It's United propaganda.
They can't afford him, fear City are in the box seat, so are trying to get their damage limitation in early, whilst also burnishing the narrative no top player would move to City but for ridiculous money.
The author of the £1m per-week wages at the weekend was Steve Bates and that's all you need to know... a United mouthpiece.
Others chancers such as Ornstein then further recycle the same myth the day after.
It's the same shit sandwich served with different bread.
Thanks for the update, it's put a warm glow into me, those Raggy's really are desperate and it's lovely to hear and see. It's not Raiola propaganda, trust me!

I know it shouldn’t but it infuriates me these type of childish tactics, I sincerely hope not just us but all fair minded fans see through it.It's not Raiola propaganda, trust me!

I hope we're doing everything in our power to bankrupt that wretched club in the next decade or two. It's not Raiola propaganda, trust me!

Ah, Master Bates!
Fed the news by his puppet master, NeilHe's a rabid United fan and quite content to do their bidding, whether asked or not.

They don't, that's the nub of it. Two weeks ago he wanted £600k a week, yesterday he wants £1m per week. Did Mino lose his fag packet with the wage demands scribbled on?
People gladly lap that shit up, it's the last bastion which keeps them warm at night. Confirmation bias from the writer straight through to its consumer.
It's why Pep is absolutely correct to change tack in recent months, insisting all our success is down to an ability to pay for top players.
It takes all the oxygen out of the room, he knows it takes more than that, but he is being very clever at the same time.
City won't get recognition, grudging at best.
Same reason why winning the Champions League will be the worst night of these cunts lives.
Not just the rags lives but the rest of the premier league. We win the champions league the papers will be ready the headlines wont be about "city win champions league", it will be City win champions league with 600 million pound squad, City buy the champions league Trophy, Will Pep now leave that City have now won the champions league and Money buys trophies. The achievment of us winning it wont be looked down as amazing as the other clubs in the league.
Such as the domestic treble, being called a mickey mouse treble that ofc city would do that look at the money they spend etc.
Same with champions league we win that and it will all be about the money. The uproar an article caused when the Journalist put the Centurians as the best premier league team ever was hilarious.
Its the worst nightmare for Premier league teams in the top half for us to win it, which is why when we win it, its going to be even more hilarious than the outcry that was with that article. but of course no one apparently cares if City win haha.
If we don't sign Haaland then I would not rush in signing Kun replacement (although the current options aren't that good)
If there are slim pickings currently on the market there is no point in rushing signing players who you can't fully rely on.That would be a huge mistake. We need to take advantage of our competitors in a financial downturn.
What if we aren't able to agree terms with Dortmund but Haaland gives us his word and tells us he will join us next summer when the release clause hits? That would be a huge mistake. We need to take advantage of our competitors in a financial downturn.
