Because we let Aguero go, and with no replacement we should have learned that lesson from not replacing Vinnie. Jesus is not clinical enough and Torres unproven consistently.

We’ve only played without a striker this season because we have had no choice. Aguero out injured a lot, poor finishing from Jesus means we’ve had to cope. We can’t keep competing for trophies with a major component missing and just hoping that two or three midfielders can keep getting 30-40 goals between them.

Also, if we don’t sign Haaland this summer then someone else will, whether that’s rag, Chelsea or one of the big Spanish sides, all those fuckers find money somewhere when they really want to. None of them will wait to see if they can get him half price next season.

What we really cannot afford is to see him go to a rival, particularly in England while next season we waste chance after chance again with Jesus missing/offside, Sterling powder puff scuffs straight at the keeper and pressure on our midfield to do a striker’s job.

We must sign Haaland or Kane at any cost.

its a must i say

going into next season without a main striker or 2 will be crazy. for me its simple haaland is first choice and reports of him being a blue is what dreams are made of. a world class player willing and wanting to play for the club

its also time for a clear out and sterling and jesus can leave and city will recoup good money for both
torres has shown he can play up top and will be ahead of both sterling and jesus next season if both stay. then we have delap the up and coming young player will to learn of a world class striker

next season forwards
haaland 2nd striker ? torres delap
the false 9 system mahrez KDb silva foden gundogan

We have no idea how things will be this summer yet though. We could replace Aguero with Haaland. On the other hand Dortmund could dig their heels in and put a fee on Haaland nobody, will pay this summer. Another scenario sees our false 9 be more clinical ,ie Messi for a year and Haaland or Mbappe become next summers target.
I think replacing Aguero with what we have is very unlikely. The direction we go in though is heavilly dependent on things we can’t control. Dortmund, PSG and Mbappe, Messi, clubs financial positions post covid all unknowns going into this summer.

If the clause is real, then I wouldn't be surprised if he sits tight for a year. Score a shitload more goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League, make yourself even more valuable. Then get an incredible deal from the club of your choice.

This summer, it's only really us and Chelsea who can afford him. Wait a year for the clause to kick in and suddenly Bayern, Juve, PSG, Inter, Barca, Real, Liverpool, United are all in play.

If he really wants us though, it'll probably have to be this summer. I don't see us in a holding pattern for 12 months waiting on a promise.

Is this thread closing now Dortmund have made champions league? B••tard!
Absolutely yes.. Raiola immediately disappears into the night and Erling loses all ambition because Dortmund squeak into qualifying

Just got a lot harder with Dortmund qualifying for the CL.

I disagree. Had they failed to qualify, he might have been a little more pushy to leave (he'd probably want to move regardless) but they'd have been a lot lot more pushy on a high price. The 'we want to keep him one more season and we have CL to offer him' would have been replaced by 'we want to keep him one more season to ensure we get back in the CL'. Overall, very little changes.

They get a guaranteed €40m in tv money. Money that they budget to have every year and would leave a big hole in their budget if they didn't have it.

That changes things.

Dortmund doesn’t need one player to finish 4th in the Bundesliga. That isn’t good enough reason
