If we thought we had him at any point, we are incredibly naive. And if they really don't want to roll withntopntargets speaking to other clubs, theynare even more naive.

I doibt either is entirely true, the huys wouldn't be where they are if they had such a poetic and profound philosophy.

It's because we aren't naive, we already know our priority.

It's not naive in terms of they want players who are committed to coming here.

We have shown plenty of times that we walk away if it's not the right smell for us.

I suspect City don't want to be dragging out this window for a number nine because it absolutely has to happen.

Two world class strikers on the market, it would be amateurish to find out you aren't the destination of choice, being forced to pay well over the odds by the other club, knowing backed into a corner.
True, but to stand up and walk away, when the fact of the matter is there is some mutual interest and the player does have some interest in coming here but wants to hear other offers, is very stubborn.

Especially when you're not up against the clock for your second choice because he won't be even available to sign till after the Euros.

If I recall correctly De Bruyne had other offers from Paris and Bayern he was mulling over as well as ours, We ended up getting that deal done, and it has served us very very well.

Imagine we walked away because he wasn't fully committed because there were other intriguing offers.

Let's revisit at the end of the summer.

Or sooner obviously, if we land our target earlier.

We have without fail, failed to strengthen meaningfully from a winning position. Every time.

And despite Khaldo claiming otherwise, this may be yet another one. And for me that includes signing Kane while Haaland goes to Chelsea.

I read the whole thing, you're still an idiot for thinking you know these 2 men and aren't just a spectator who sees 1% of their life and relationship.

They worked together for 5 years. Worked hard, we know both put a lot of effort into getting Aguero to fit Peps system and both won a lot of trophies together. It would be surprising if they weren't emotional when they go their separate ways, but Peps got a job and Aguero isn't fit enough to be the undisputed number 1 any more.
Can you go a whole post without calling people names , go on try it , then we can talk

really dont like this "if theres competition we are out" attitude. if we are talking about naive this is just as naive.

i understand that we do not know everything thats going on behind the scenes but one could say we are not as commited also.

I just wish for the first time, we actually flex our financial muscle and get this deal done.

Send a message out, whatever the cost.

Providing he wants to come,we cant take that for granted........but,yep,in a nutshell thats exactly what we should do.

Why be the richest club in the world and take all the shit for it,yet dont actually take advantage of it?

Get it fucking done City.

If he wanted to come we would sign him , simply as that. Now stop crying over it and move on ffs.

or if you’re stupid enough to think we will still sign him get in the 40/1 for him to sign for us.

Could it be something as simple as we’ve given our word to Kane and that’s that? We expect targets to do the same for us so we give players the same treatment. Maybe it helps future deals (trust wise) too rather than doing the dirty?

It could boil down to Pep simply believing Kane to Haaland as @domalino mentioned earlier. Or we’ve seen that Kane has shown he wants the move but EH hasn’t? No idea. Either way we’ll be getting a world class forward.

One issue, though, is that once one goes off the market then the selling club (Spurs or Dortmund) have the upper hand negotiating wise. You’d assume City know because if Chelsea get EH first, Spurs will up their price for Kane which could see us walking away.

It sounds like I’m flapping, I’m not, it just seems to make sense in my mind given how we’ve done business in recent years.

I'll preface this by saying i would luv Haaland.

I think he's a great talent but it seems something has happened.
Maybe we got a bad vibe in talks? or with his agent and Dad flying around Spain? or maybe we saw enough of him in the two games against us to think he's not worth north of €150m yet? Or maybe his team got wind of us talking to Kane's team and then they lost interest in us? Who knows, it could be all or none, but it just feels like this isn't happening.

But if we end up with Kane, i really do think it will benefit our team more in the short term, because i think he fits our style of play a lot better and will score for fun in our team.
He is a quality striker who is proven in the PL, he's scored all sorts of goals in top level competiton for club and country over many seasons. He seems hungry to win also, so i think for the amount of money talked about he is less of a risk and i think we should get this done asap!
