Pay it. Salad is demanding that. If we want to compete and buy the best out there, we have to pay it. Otherwise someone else will.

Time to go to the next level.

Hopefully he signs with Puma, who incidentally sell a fuckton of stuff to Abu Dubai warehouses for some reason as the increase his offer...

Yes, they do quite a bit when they wanna make the club or player look greedy or idiotic its becoming pretty common in articles or agruments. Its where the million a week story originally came from. The Messi wage at PSG was all reported with a (before tax) disclaimer.
Oh no. I hope whoever is signing off on the deal knows the difference

:-)

Yeah but he's proved his worth, he's been in two Super Bowls, winning one, in four years.

I think the problem people have, well i do, is that it's a lot of money to pay straight off the bat, to someone who hasn't yet proved he can do it in the best leagues and in the biggest games.

I agree that Haaland is banging them in for fun, but it's in the Bundesliga!

What about in the Champions League and international football, does that not count as a further barometer?

It's quite obvious we have interest in singing him and that he is open for talks. Add to that the fact that most people (fans of all teams out there) and experts see him as the next best player of the world in the near future , and the fact that his dad played for us and he was a fan of us as a child and you have 17k comments on the thread. I don't see what the issue with it is ?
Nice carry on then:-)

Same price range as most reports then.

1m gross, 500k net.

Wonder if thats inc bonuses or not. 350 flat and goals/trophy payouts. put him in the top end bracket of the squad but not break the structure.
When our KDB is 350K and our Foden is negotiating for 150K, then if that's not break the structure, what is?
I'll pass, simple as that.

Pretty difficult to argue Haaland isn't worth 400-500k per week. Him and Mbappe are the two most in-demand players in the world and that's how much top players make, simple. If we want to compete for that class of player, which we have in the past, we need to pay it.

Forget that thinking. Look at who is the agent and in what situation the player is. The other competitors in the no. 9 position as real centre forwards of that type are already (far) over 30. Mbappe is not in the same category as he actually has more the skills of a winger even if he often starts on the 9 - and he is Real Madrid bound (that is why Madrid is out of a Haaland transfer - they cannot do both). His release clause is about 75 m EUR - but his value without it is probably somewhat over 150 m EUR, more around 200 m EUR.

Raiola will cash in - and the player will, too. It is not about increasing his earning per year. He will get over the odds from the start whereever he goes next year.
I won’t be changing my thinking, unless I’m proven wrong.
Until he has agreed and signed with a City shirt on his back, it’s just speculation from everyone.

We dont report what they can take on top of that with win bonuses and goals etc, just the flat wage mostly. He'd prob be on about the same as KDB if they can get the structure agreed so he's inline.
